How can someone bash an OS before it's officially out? I am hearing good things about Windows 7 and as much as I don't care for Windows, I hope they pull this off and fix the Vista mess.

I'd love to nail this guy in the ****ing face.

My ears are bleeding.

It's such a one sided argument, while I gotta say, things do look a bit tacky and over-done on the GUI side of things, this guy is plain annoying..

But he had one funny line when he said that a huge icon pops up when your device is plugged in. "Whoopdy do thank you for telling me what I plugged in, like I didn't ****ing know." haha.

for sure. i want 7 to be great. i want 7 to be better than osx really and seems they are moving in the right direction to at least be a viable alternative for me.

If Windows 7 is better than OSX, then Apple will have to do something make OSX better than Windows 7 in the future, and you know who comes out on top? Us the customers.
People like the OP make Mac users look stuck up and I see why people think that after seeing this. If all Mac users were like him, I would never have switched.

This guy breaks down Windows 7 as it is. Love it.

I'm damn sure Microsoft will sell more licenses of that "joke" in its first week of shipping than Apple has sold Leopard licenses in the last two years.

Unlike Vista, Windows 7 already has very good press and people who have actually used the betas are enthusiastic about it. Consider Vista the "Cheetah" release of a new architecture and Windows 7 its Puma/Jaguar/Panther release or whatever.

Because abusing a monopoly is not competition.

What do you mean?

Microsoft should remain with their crappy OS "Vista" and not try to fix it and move on and continue to compete with Apple?

It's a constant race, Microsoft pushes forward (sometimes backwards lol) with their new OS, Apple pushes with their new OS. It's not exactly a race to who sells more, because obviously Apple can't win that, but a battle to the better operating system and it'll never end.

Take it to the US courts, who have explicitely classified Microsoft as a monopoly.

Anyway, here are some more excellent videos

MS didn't have to comply with regulations. The court found MS guilty of abusing its monopoly but unlike AT&T, they didn't force MS to break up. Thanks to the corrupt politicians and lobbyists.

Thank god the European Union has the balls to do something about it, instead of just whining.

Personally I'm looking forward to Windows 7, I'm looking for something to use as a media tower and for the price of a Mini you can get some much more powerful hardware, obviously without the form factor, though.

How anyone can become committed to one OS, almost religiously, is beyond me. Especially when both have their positives and negatives.

Not to be rude or anything, but can I ask how old you are? You don't seem to fully understand the situation....

Competition is great! The harder Microsoft and Apple work to 1up each other, the better end result for the customer :)

Well I'm using Windows 7 beta now and have been since it was released and I must say its very good... What a lot of people are calling 'What Vista should have been'. And it is...

Obveously theres some tweaks that need to be sorted out (well more than a few) but a very stable and overall good OS.

That essentially what it is, seeing as its based entirely on Vista's kernel. They fixed it up, and added some new features. Microsoft essentially was forced to rename in order to escape the bad publicity (which was warranted at first, but Vista is better now) and figured well if we are renaming it, we might as well add features to.

Thus, windows 7.:)

Microsoft a monopoly???? The only reason that you see PC vendors not offering any other OS to the consumer is because there is no other viable option for most costumers. Linux can be pretty powerful too, but it is far from being accessible for anyone. And that whole European Union stuff is crap in my opinion. They criticize Microsoft for bundling Media Player and IE with their OS, but why shouldn't they??? It just gives more functionality to the end user, and they're not preventing the customer in anyway for installing Firefox or any other software they want. Apple does exactly the same thing in OSX, hell they do the same with their computers, which they bundle with OSX, iTunes, Safari, etc. Should the European Union or the US courts do anything to them?? Of course not, because that's part of the user experience Apple and Microsoft are offering, and users are free to obtain other software options if they want besides the ones that already come with the OS.

For the record, I use Windows 7 on a daily basis, and I think it is a great improvement over Vista. Still needs some polishing, but I'm sure they'll have an amazing product by the time it hits RTM.
