@americafirst - I recall you have an interest in nice glass wear. I came across some nice wine/beer glasses, linked below. I ordered two of each but waiting for them to arrive.

On the one hand, I'm pretty partial to Riedel glassware, but, on the other, its very fragility - this is the sort of glassware that if you so much as wave it anywhere near a tap (faucet?) before rinsing it, and cleaning it, will give thought to shattering itself.

Handled (fairly) carefully, it is lovely glassware.

Thank you. We will see how long they last with my butterfingers. I ordered two of each just in case someone stops by....lol

I have a weakness for glass and collectibles. A friend in California has a fantastic store and takes advantage of me every chance he gets. Here’s a group of glass. I had to crop an existing photo as I’m in the Twin Cities.

Yes, my good glassware suffers injuries, too.

However, I also have a weakness for good glassware and similar collectibles, and thanks for sharing.

Tonight, Founder's - the classic Backwoods Bastard - is keeping me company - served in a Belgian beer chalice.

I like that vase, Gutty. We haven't had a glass break in almost 13 years. Though I did manage to break an old and unused stoneware plate several weeks ago. Was half wet and slipped out of my wet hand onto the countertop's corner. Shattered in about 100 pieces. Was a nightmare to clean up even with two vacuums.

Had a Goose IPA an hour ago with some pretzels. Substandard, but I had a craving, and so I did what had to be done.

Edit: Actually, no, we did have a glass break in the sink. I can't remember what happened but I think one of us dropped in a plate without looking and broke the stem off of wine glass and the top rim portion. Probably a few months ago. Apart from that, I can't think of anything else breaking. When I was a bachelor I constantly found myself accidentally breaking glasses through carelessness. Nothing expensive, but it was still a PITA to cleanup.

Sunny, Southern California
Had several new beers this weekend:

King Harbor Abel Brown - Has coffee and isn't too bad.
Big Sky Brewing Moose Drool Brown Ale - Love this beer. One of the better Brown Ales out there in my opinion.
Ballast Point Strawberry Sculpin - Absolutely hated this one. Horrible taste. Thank god it was free.
Left Coast Brewing Hop Juice IPA - Not bad at all.
Left Coast Brewing Una Mas Red Ale - Liked this one a lot.
Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA - This was good to. Not over the type and actually made for a smooth and clean IPA.
H-West B.V. Dutch Republic 1581 Pale Ale - Not bad, not great. Easy drinker especially on a hot day.
St. Peter's Old Style Porter - Big ole thumbs up especially as it starts to warm up.

Well, maybe in some other life.

But do enjoy your Pliny the Elder.

Mind you, some tasting notes wouldn't go amiss; what makes this beverage so special? I assume that it is special the way that a Rochefort Trappistes 10 is special.
It’s one of the only double IPAs I truly love. Piny and crisp, not too heavy as some DIPAs get, boozy but not noticeably so. It’s a mighty fine beer, out done, in my humble opinion, only by their Blind Pig IPA, which may be my perfect IPA. It’s just like Pliny but endlessly drinkable and lacking a certain subtle underlying sweetness that I don’t care for in Pliny. To be honest I’d never say no to a pint of either...

Thanks for your detailed tasting notes; much appreciated.

For my part, instead of my standard tipple of white Burgundy, I opted for an Italian Chardonnay (Lama dei Corvi) instead, one that was recommended to me by my wine merchant.
