In a coffee shop.
Today, I treated myself to a serious cellar-stocking exercise, mostly comprised of Trappist beers:

Several bottles of Trappistes Rochefort 8, a few of Trappistes Rochefort 10, and six St Bernardus 12 all found their way into my basket. As did a few Weissbiers, and a couple of bottles of Erdinger Dunkel.

Now, this delightful selection is due to be delivered.........

Went to a fancy restaurant (Le Cinq) and we had that one. That nectar was just heaven. What a journey, what a life to be able to enjoy that masterpiece. I’m still in awe after 3 hours.

A night that calls for a few dark beers.

Starting with an Erdinger Dunkel, from Germany.

Exquisite.

I cannot but applaud your taste.

As for me, I am currently imbibing - sipping and savouring - a Trappistes Rochefort 8, a wonderful dark beer from Belgium.

Over the past few weeks I have had some really big beers.

The Bruery "Black Tuesday" 2022, clocking in just under 20 ABV and it was freaking delicious
The Bruery "S'moreo" 2022, clocking in just under 16% ABV and it too was freaking delicious
The Bruery "So Happens It's Tuesday", clocking in just under 16% ABV. I have had this one several times and it never disappoints
Bottle Logic "More Time To Explain" (2021), I aged this just under a year. Clocking in under 13% ABV. This is my second go of this beer and I like the aged version better. The flavors were more present and was overall a pleasant sipper.

All were good, all I would have again in a heart beat!

A crate of beer (mostly Trappistes Rochefort - both Trappistes Rochefort 8 and Trappistes Rochefort 10 - and several bottles of St Bernardus) was delivered today.

Enjoyed a single beer this evening, a St Bernardus Abt 12, a Belgian winter classic.

Can't go wrong with this one... One of my favorites and an excellent sipper indeed.

Agreed, it is a superb sipper.

In truth, if pushed, I probably prefer the Trappistes Rochefort range - especially the Trappistes Rochefort 8 and the Trappistes Rochefort 10, - to the St Bernardus Abt 12, but all of them are superb, and simply perfect at this time of year.
