I "usually" don't drink on what we call "School" nights. If I have to work the next day I don't partake.

When abroad, I might have a wine or a glass of beer with dinner, but, in general, I take a similar approach.

But we just got back from England and boy, had so many great beers and so many great beers on cask to boot!!!!!!!!

Anything in particular catch your eye, or appeal to your palate?

A crate of beer - mostly Belgian beers (several bottles of La Chouffe, Westmalle Dubbel, and Westmalle Tripel) and some German beer (Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier) and Erdinger Dunkel, have just been delivered.

Was able to finally try Sam Adams and Dogfish Heads Utopia Barrel Aged World Wide Stout. Oh my. They did it again. This is the second version of the WWS that I have had and man, it is soooo freaking good. Once again the 17+% ABV doesn't show itself and as this one starts to warm up... you will be in for a treat! Good stuff. Really good stuff!

.. daughter purchased this new-to-us berry wine (after a tasting) on a recent trip to BC's Okanagan region, and brought it with her for us to try on a recent stay in Harrison Hot Springs, BC - sweet (but not overly so), with wonderful, interesting flavours, and much-enjoyed after our dinners out, and back to our hotel room to relax.

Yup BC wines (and Canadian wines in general) are of high quality but really unknown abroad sadly. Kind of like Swiss wines.
Today, I have learned something new.

I didn't even know that BC produced wines. Fascinating.

And, for that matter, I am equally ignorant of Swiss wines; I assumed that they are produced - given that the vast majority of the countries surrounding Switzerland produce wines, sometimes, excellent wines - but I can honestly say that I have never even so much as laid eyes on a bottle of wine from Switzerland, let alone tasted one.
