It's already there. Turn on Reduce Motion.

Ah but that only stops the Slam, Loud, Gentle & full screen animations and not the rest of the drawing options they were referring too.
However i'm very surprised Apple didn't add a separate toggle for these animations instead of tying all of this to the App Zoom effect which I turned off after the first day it showed up as I don't care for that effect at all, though I'm starting get used to it finally with iOS 10.

Back to initial comment, frankly I don't see the problem, if you don't like the new Messages options then don't use them as their really not in the way of basic texting.

It's faster, easier, AND safer than Slide to Unlock. It's 2016, get with the program.
I think their point is that they don't WANT to be forced to use a passcode to use TouchID. Not everyone is concerned with having their phone locked (I'm not one of them but they do exist).
For them, they would much rather have the ability to simply unlock (without passcode) directly, and the removal of the slide to unlock feature no longer allows them to "safely" carry their phone in their pocket.

And, as far as the finger print reader goes - do you do any type of mechanical or outside work? I've found that nifty little finger print reader doesn't work to well when your hands have much dirt or grease on them - which defeats the fingerprint reader and is just another reason some prefer to run without it. Not everyone has a nice cushy office job that carries the phone - some people actually perform extensive physical labor that results in dirty hands and defeat of the fingerprint reader. Most of the mechanics I know keep their phones on a slide unlock feature with no pass codes for that very reason.

Now, to on-topic
Personally I'd like to see a few more "live" type backgrounds. I'd also LOVE the ability to do like you can (and have been able to for a while) on the Android phones to have a TRUE live type background that would use the weather to influence the background displayed (raining=rainy background, snow=snowing, etc.). That was something I really missed when I moved from Android to IOS. And there was no need to jailbreak to get that ability - it was a simple app purchased in the store. I don't worry that much about the battery drain as I can always hook up to power if I need to now.

I seriously roll my eyes when I hear that. You DO realize TouchID is actually faster and easier than slide to unlock? You set it up once, and then LITERALLY all you do is rest your finger on the home button and it's unlocked. Would you rather continuously move your finger along a path or simply rest your finger on one particular spot?

If you are AT ALL concerned about safety and/or the potential for your phone to be accidentally unlocked then TouchID is your answer, case closed.

As an aside
-- if your hands are too dirty for TouchID to properly recognize who you are, then wipe your hands off. Chances are the screen isn't going to respond to someone who has oil/grease/dirt/mud on their fingers any better than TouchID will. Lastly, if you're that lazy that you DON'T want to wipe off your hands before handling your $600-900 phone, then TouchID is perfect for you, because it literally requires no motion or effort 99% of the time to work.

Again.. only under ideal circumstances. You seem to want to overlook the point that not everyone wants NOR desires a password protected access. The slide to unlock feature prevents accidental activation of the phone functions when in a pocket with or without a password.
You seem to be fixated on the "ease/quickness" while dismissing other peoples needs. I see that all the time with people who don't have a varied view of life and peoples circumstances.

But, we are getting off-topic. Maybe the moderator will split this topic into another thread (or move it into one that already exists that is similar to it). This will be the last I have to say on it.

Slide to unlock back or at least a way to lock the iPhone when you don't use passcodes or Touch ID so it doesn't accidently get unlocked in your pocket. I have never used passcodes and don't plan on starting now.

Do you also leave your home or car doors unlocked?

- info about iOS version of my friends, because of new iMessage features
- option to leave notifications on LS
- better alarm clock - separate alarm volume, fading volume, no bedtime (don't use it)
- smaller font

- Configurable Control Center
- Configurable "Up Next" widget. I want to be able to select which calendars it will show.
- A real alarm clock. Big button when it goes off. The ability to show a clock screen saver when I connect the phone. My Nexus 5 could do that...
- If the above can't be done, the ability to select an app to automatically start when I connect the phone.

WTF does "real" mean when applied to an alarm clock? The phone wakes me up every morning, reliably... seems "real" enough.

There are umpteen alarm clocks in the app store. Pick one.

A working alarm clock.

What doesn't work about the stock Clock application? Honestly curious... it tells time, it has a stopwatch, it has timers, it has alarms.

One that just stops after you did calculate 2+12 etc. .

Huh? Are you confusing the Clock with the Calculator?

The stock alarm is only useful when you are already awake.

Let's see... I'm asleep, it plays loud noises until I turn it off. What else is an alarm clock supposed to do while you're sleeping? Honestly curious here...

A little hyper text link doesn't really do it for me either.

AN alarm clock that actually displays the time. NAd one that does not have tiny buttons. One that does not require me to fumble for my glasses to see where the small "Off" target is.

There are a bunch of 3rd party alarm clocks. Apple does not want to compete with them? fine. Then allow me to tell it to start my alarm clock of choice when I set my phone to charge.

Of all the things I missed goming from a Nexus5, that and Qi charging are the 2 I miss the most. The stock clock app displayed 2 large buttons when the alarm went off. I could also set a "screen saver" when the phone was charging. One of the choice was a clock display. It would fade out, move and fade in every minute to avoid burn-in. Combine that with Qi charging and a charging dosck that stood the phone at a near 90 degree angle, and I never had to fumble with a cable or a dock connector. Went to bed, placed the phone on the cradle. It started to charge, up came the clock.

How about fixing the animations on the iPhone 7 models?

Or should that be in a 10.0.2 update?

Add a picture format to the camera app. I take a lot of my pics to Costco to be printed. It's a real pain to have to crop every single one to 4X6.

Exactly; I know this and it's what I'm trying to tell you. I WANT the cards to be slide by slide but still keep the new animations. That's what I want.

Well, to be clear, you did tell the phone to "reduce motion", so it did that :) Balloons and stuff likr that IS extraneous motion.

But yes, it should be more granular.

I use Touch ID and love it but it isn't always dirt that causes Touch ID to not work. I have an "office job" but I built my own house which was a lot of "dirty work". I have had instances where my hands were "damaged" from various jobs(tiling/grouting a floor) on the house to the point certain fingers literally would not unlock my phone no matter how clean they were(finger prints were apparently worn??). So I can see both sides of the argument..

Asking for new features seems absurd for me so early in 10.1 .
First of all i would like to see
-Performance optimization & Boost across the board.
-Battery drain optimization & battery life Boost across the board
-Fix all the bugs as soon as possible.
-Fix lag in animations & add the portrait mode to Plus users.( you are in my heart Plus users )

Until then dont focus on adding new stuff .
