I'm happy for you @snow755, now remember to only buy from oficial certified stores like Apple.com, bestbuy, etc to avoid risking it, unless you know the seller in person.
That or use Swappa. I've used Swappa for the last 4 years and over 30 transactions with no issues.

Swappa is a way more centralized around tech than eBay. I find the sellers to be more responsive and the listings/descriptions seem more in detail too. Although, Swappa can be problematic for some ‘bad’ transactions, its exponentially grown in business in the last three years and I would also suggest selling on Macrumors forum place if any members are interested, but they have to meet the requirements to do so.

eBay is a $100 billion dollar company. People are talking like it’s a guy on a street corner.
I would be more apt to buy an iPhone from some guy hanging on a street corner than off eBay. At least I could check it out first.

Just spent ~30 minutes reading through this thread. And im really happy for the OP that they got refunded by paypal. And that there were others that seemed genuinely concerned for OP with regards to this without judging him too harshly.

Other than that, i agree with others advice to stay clear off Ebay when it comes to buying anything Apple.

This whole thread really underscores why I'll always purchase my iPhones direct from Apple. It is so not worth all the headache, anxiety, 'will it be legit'?, etc, that comes with trying to save a couple of bucks here or there. I either go into the store, or purchase it online from them, and ... zero worries. I know it's real, it's new, it's covered under a full warranty, won't be iCloud locked, etc. That peace of mind is worth a few dollars.

^this.
