sales tax is the reason why i wont buy it from apple it will make the phone $860 to there am saveing $60 in sales taxs

eBay sellers could charge tax. Some Swappa sellers may advertise with taxes for local buyers I think. They may have to levy taxes before shipping.

Just buy from Apple directly. They won’t cheap you out like some eBay or Swappa sellers. Plus, credit card companies can price protect you for about 60 days when you buy from Apple. That doesn’t apply to eBay or Swappa sites.

dos any one have a iphone 8 nomra one not the pulse size if so how you like yours ?

Hey dude, you've spent a couple hundred dollars worth of time by looking at all these listings, asking questions to the sellers, getting scammed, getting a refund, etc.

eBay is really not worth the hassle bud. :)

I may be repeating myself in a different form, but I don’t use eBay for selling iPhones or purchasing used Apple products, I know my method may not be preferred by many, but this is why I purchase *new* or direct from somebody that I know personally. It just saves me the time, hassle and inconvenience of being scammed by somebody being dishonest.

Same here, when I buy iPhones I like to buy them new and when I sell them I like to sell them locally via craigslist, offerup or letgo.

I don’t understand your obsession with eBay. Especially when you’re now willing to pay full price.

It's the same thought process that goes into "will only shop Walmart" type thinking: they think they are getting a great deal, because 1) been pounded into their heads 2) do see some deals, but never actually do price comparisons on most things.

In this case, "you can get stuff for pennies on the dollar on eBay" assumptions.

One of the screen shots shows "JS Cellular". If nothing else, it shows the phone was booted up to something. I did a google for JS Cellular and got NO response. Some Hong Kong provider? Looks like a scam to me. The OP says he "won" a iPhone x. Due to the lack of bidders who passed on this bargain, it's easy to assume they thought it was scam from the go. Never trust anyone on eBay without at least 10 positive rating.
[doublepost=1530824764][/doublepost]Has the OP received this phone yet?

This whole thread really underscores why I'll always purchase my iPhones direct from Apple. It is so not worth all the headache, anxiety, 'will it be legit'?, etc, that comes with trying to save a couple of bucks here or there. I either go into the store, or purchase it online from them, and ... zero worries. I know it's real, it's new, it's covered under a full warranty, won't be iCloud locked, etc. That peace of mind is worth a few dollars.

Buying a phone on swappa is pretty legit. eBay is a scammers paradise when it comes to consumer electronics. Swappa has moderators that verify info before allowing anything to be posted. eBay is awesome for a lot of things, but not phones.

eBay is fine, if you pay with PayPal. Guaranteed protection of your purchase from not one, but two companies.

You will get refunded, if you get scammed. I've been dealing on eBay for 20 years, and have had only a handful of issues.

It seems, people who are advising against buying online, aren't well informed about the buyer protection in place.

Having said that, Swappa is my go-to place to buy and sell phones.

I wonder if there's people out there that would receive something like this and actually think it's legit.

Wow, that's a REALLY HORRIBLE fake. If the form factor didn't instantly give it away, the 16GB of storage certainly does! ;)

All jokes aside, I'm glad you won the PayPal case, @snow755. When it comes to eBay, when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

UnFortunately, there is lots of Chinese fakes on the market, eBay has a lot of positive aspects, but you really have to do your due diligence in researching the seller and feedback history as well.

I'm happy for you @snow755, now remember to only buy from oficial certified stores like Apple.com, bestbuy, etc to avoid risking it, unless you know the seller in person.
