I legit laughed at the video. Anyway it’s lazy as hell that the seller used a legit box for a blacklisted phone. I sold my X 256gb box to some dude on Craigslist with headphones for $50.

As soon as the seller got a hold of the money from the OP he was probably a happy scammer that day.

Anyway I’ve seen holds on sales from PayPal, surely that could have prevented this?

I file a
Claim ASAP and reported the buyer PayPal has a hold on my $ now

You should mention with these numbers that there is a contract involved...
What are you talking about? If you buy a phone on an installment. Your “contract” is done once you pay the $599 there is basically no such thing as a contract anymore. Like me I have an iPhone X I gave $999 for it on installments. I still owe like $799 now so if I go pay the $799 I can leave and take the phone where I want to go.

I just looked at the Target site and are you sure the price isn’t $799? They show reg. price of $999, $799 with the $200 discount which is the advertised $26.67 per month for 30 months

Yesterday (Sunday) it was $299 for 8
$399 for 8+
$599 for X

Today is $799 for the X

Snow is one standup guy. Sorry, this all happened to you. I still have the fake gold iPhone 6 I got scammed out of years ago- just as a reminder.
Plus, I gotta guess most of the other 754 Snows have been scammed at one time or another too.

Looks like the phone doesn’t actually have a notch either. It’s just the screen protector strategically blocking parts of the display.

If for some reason am allowed too keep the phone I got scammed on. I will charge it up some. And see what I got and has far has os gos and what not in tell I her back on. What to do next how ever the phone stays packed in tell further notice

But I will treat you guys for some fun later on if am allowed too keep it

You could probably make some money if you can manage to destroy it in glorious fashion somehow on YouTube. You’d just have to move the phone around a lot in the video so people can’t get a good look and know it’s a fake.

Everything including the box, barcode label on the box, and the phone are fake.

You can buy these clones online easily.
Fair point, but they can’t just replicate these boxes with legit iPhone information that checks out? Lol.

I guess once they have suckered someone it doesn’t matter whether they know or not.

friday well mark all most a week since i file a claim with paypal and not once so far have i here from the seller

this looks like a easy case for me too win

So many scams on Ebay. They are very good about it now though. For years people got ripped off badly. The scams still go on; hijacked accounts still happen all the time.

I would imagine Ebay has some serious collections options, as they pay out to buyers, so it's up to them to collect. Might even be scary.:D

Lets hope so.

The real danger now are the links to outside of Ebay (and protection). They are sneaky about it. You have a regular auction at an unbelievable price, with a link to 'another part of eBay' (this is important, as it seems legit). This is a scam they use now to get you to buy outside of Ebay, You do this, and you're on your own.

They use to just send you emails to get you to do this. Now it's links right in the auction! They need to have better Bots to detect this. These types of auctions are taken down quickly though.

eBay is a danger zone for Apple products and will always be with the black market and extreme popularity with iPhones, iPads, ect. Always research the seller, ask questions, look for lots of photo’s. Swappa is Decent, but sell locally if possible.
