Okay, can anyone explain this one? I’ve been running into comments saying (usually in all caps) “You ate!” Whaaaat? Anyone know what this means???

I guess it means "nailed it". Like nailing smn with pneumatic nailer is also not a good thing but in the context it is used like an affirmative word. Almost like sharks clapping each other for eating that seal. From google:
“She ate", “he ate”, or “they ate” is a slang phrase used to express admiration and praise for someone who has done a great job at something.

What does Ate mean?​
