Fell out of my bag onto the concrete. Insurance is going to cover the damage though.

Had my MBP in my "waterproof" case inside of my backpack during a downpour. Wouldn't turn on at first. Eventually it turned on, but I had to get a new LCD.

If it weren't for these times of recession, I'd suggest you go into business reproducing these works of art! Call it humanity's struggle against something and you'd have yourself a winner :p

Haha thank you.
That's a possibility if I keep spilling diet coke on my keyboards. :D

;) You know I faked it. :D That was funny just to see your reactions.

Sorry but I didn't buy it for a second. It was too neatly centered on the keyboard for it to have fallen. Plus those things have a serious back center of gravity. You would have to push one really hard to have them tip like that and that could really only happen if you did it on purpose or were the most uncoordinated guy in North America. I was positive it was the first.

I cant believe how many people are forgetting to zip up their laptop bags. Something tells me that is not a mistake many of you will make a 2nd time.

New Years Day 2004. I was hungover :( , checking my email and had a jug of iced tea next to my iBook. I somehow knocked it over  and the entire sugary contents went straight into the keyboard and bubbled n' shrieked as it cannibalized the insides . I screamed like a girl, pooped my pants, then called the insurance company. I was covered for accidents :D! I took the dosh and put it towards an upgrade. Got my first PowerBook G4 :apple:. The negative became a positive , but sometimes I still wake up screaming at the thought of the lil' white 12" beauty dying it's Nestea death.:p

I put my bag down behind my car and ran back into my office to pick up my keys that I had forgotten. Jumped back in the car, put it in reverse and felt a bump. There went my 12" PowerBook.

It must have been on an edge because while the case had completely warped it still turned on and the HD was in tact - although the video was screwed as illustrated in the picture.

Work paid to get it repaired but the repair wasn't that great and it was still a little warped. Replaced it with with a 15" PowerBook which I was happy about because the 12" rev a was really an underperforming piece of rubbish *ducks the punches from I love my 12" PowerBook club members*.

Yea I accidentally poured about half a can of Coke onto the keyboard of my Powerbook G4 around that same time. I guess somehow it didn't get into the insides though because my only problem after that was sticky keys. Unfortunately in my efforts to remove each key individually and wash them I accidentally broke one of the shift keys. Irritating, but really not the end of the world.

Mac:

When I was at a party and we were using my MacBook as the DJ. Shifting some things around I sat the thing down in liquor without even realizing it. Zapped the battery. Oops.

iPod:

When I thought there was something inside the headphone jack so I took my pair of Sony's and tried force it out with the tip. The whole gold plated tip snapped off and was left lodged in the headphone jack. Oops.

That negative turning into a positive actually happens quite often when your insured with replacement coverage. I have had numerous accident with my photography equipment that always led to upgrading to newer and better gear.

i spilled an entire glass of chocloate milk on my macbook pro. it was so bad that milk was pouring out of the side ports. i just let it dry out for 3days and it has been working perfectly ever since (it's been a year).

before that i spilled a glass of water on the keyboard which now the X key doesn't work.

now i have a stand :D

My old MBP was thrown of my desk while I was out 91 days after I got it. Cost me $900 to get the bottom case replaced, motherboard was damaged, usb port crushed.

I thought everything was fixed.

I compared it to several different MBP and noticed it was always running significantly hotter about 20º C. Took it in and the right fan was broken, had to pay an additional $350 for that.

I have no complaints about this, since Apple did try to do everything they could, and lowered the price for the original repair. It just would have been nice to have it all fixed at one time.

By the time that was all over I probably should have just bought a new one.

Since then I have been buying AppleCare for everything I can.

None of those things would be covered by Applecare

I had my MacBook Pro in the laptop case and while carrying it to my next class the strap broke and the laptop hit the ground on the corner. When I checked the computer I was very relieved to find that the computer was completely functional although it gained a bit of character in the rear left corner...

I had just bought my MBP and a week into it, a glass picture frame falls corner first into the keypad. The option key popped out and I later realized that it not only damaged the key, but the whole left section of the keypad stopped responding.

So I take it into the Mac store and I tell them what happened. They tell me that they can't cover any accidental damages but since I was honest, they gave me a brand new one free of charge. :D

This was the day before Christmas it was snowing and i was using a snowblower and some how my iPod mini fell out of my pocket and I didn't see so the next thing is big blue thing fly through the air and it was my iPod:eek:

Nothing major happened to me, although I slipped on ice and my iPod touch feel from my pocket. To my delight, it landed face down, and as the screen could withstand a nuclear blast, it was fine! Would have exploded if it landed on the back though.

The fan repair actually would have been, at least according to apple. Apparently it was faulty, nothing to do with accident. I think it was a faulty replacement part that I didn't pickup on right away.

Me and my friend were playing Wii in my apartment I thought I was too cool to wear the strap. I let go of the controller accidentally while batting R.I.P. 30" ACD.
