Happened last night.
Leave to go to Mardi Gras and when I get back, the lid won't shut and there's a dent on the left side of it.

Supposedly my father fell on it.

Sorry for the bad pictures. Took them with my phone.
Even though the damage may not look that bad, it's still $500 worth of damage.

perhaps it fell off after you left it precariously balancing on the curved edge of a sofa.

I did absolutely nothing to my macbook, and one day the hard drive failed.
Lost everything, Back up ppl.
went to the apple store though, out of warranty, they replaced it for free, plus it was 80gb :D

this is just a sad thread

i opened a cabinet above my Macbook Pro about a week after i got it and a metal can fell and landed right on the speaker grill and put a dent in it.....luckily my computer had issues with the trackpad not functioning properly so i took the computer in and they replaced the trackpad and topcase no questions asked

now she works and looks brand new

This was the day before Christmas it was snowing and i was using a snowblower and some how my iPod mini fell out of my pocket and I didn't see so the next thing is big blue thing fly through the air and it was my iPod:eek:

I'm terribly sorry but I had a good laugh at this one!
Sorry for your iPod though, and for laughing...

iBook fell off table at school and the backlight died until I rebooted.

My brother tripped over my iBook's power cord and the thing landed open and upside down on the floor. But there was no damage!

It did not die because of this as it lasted nearly 6 months before dyeing and survived 2 more accidents at school not caused by me.

kids knocks iBook off table at school 4 times before it dies

it also survived a few drops of water leaking into the bag on rainy days. I was scared to plug it in when the power port got wet when I got home from school on one rainy day

Not exactly with a Mac, but my new puppy took my 30GB 5.5G iPod, which was in a case, in his mouth and shook vigorously. It flew out of the case and made a sizable dent in the wall -- and the iPod.

Worst one was when we had a plug adapter on the table and our new puppy jumped up to find food. Can tell what happened next :( Got a dent on the lid of my MBP now, still going strong though :)

Heylo :) The Magsafe pulled out of the MacBook Pro, and everything was fine?

Fell off my Sofa, and landed on its side, was only a 3' fall onto Laminate, just picked it up and kept on using it, no noticable damage.

Have got a dent on the bottom for a friend with a belt buckle >.>

i spilled an entire glass of chocloate milk on my macbook pro. it was so bad that milk was pouring out of the side ports. i just let it dry out for 3days and it has been working perfectly ever since (it's been a year).

before that i spilled a glass of water on the keyboard which now the X key doesn't work.

now i have a stand :D

Eww, sour milk :(:(:(

Haha small world we live in mate :p Nah I don't think I explained it properly, I've been awake too long for one day :/ There was one of those adapters which the euro plugs go into to fit into the UK sockets on the table, and the dog knocked it off and the metal part landed right on my mac :(

Ah that reminds me of a near fatal accident that I nearly had the other day, mac was on my bed-side table and I accidently hit it with my elbow, but I luckily caught it in mid air before it hit the laminate floor :|

Kids n coke

Just had to replace my keyboard due to the kids spilling diet coke onto the old one. Only key that was knackered was the 'P' key.

£28 for a P is really expensive, but it had to be done ;)

Ahh, something fell onto it...

With my MacBook Pro usually living on the sofa, i've had the 'Did i just sit on my MacBook....' thought too many times.

My 12" PowerBook I got in October has taken some beating. Has a few dents and warpings. Power plug fram slightly warped. Dent on grills. Rubber foot on battery is missing. Right part of case popped loose but I glued and it looks great. Reglued aluminum piece to battery because it was getting loose. It looks really good though because I've fixed some of the small blemishes.

well I accidentally knocked over a glass of cherry coke and some of it, literally a few drops, got into the the air vent of my girlfriends macbook which friend the board. cost me $700!

1: Friend's dog eats part of a White MAcBook Screen. I removed it and left him with what another poster did with a blackbook. I told him to go so starbucks and type with out the screen. Would definitely get some looks.

2: I bought a Mac and got an addictive virus. It's called IHaveToBuyOrLustOverBuyingEverythingThatComesOutOfCupertinoitis. It's an epidemic.

When I get a craving, I call it a Mac Attack.

Hey, that 'another poster' was me! :D

Now it has a screen though.

slightly off topic, but I was lying on my back watching you tube on my iPod touch and some how succeeded in dropping it. The iPod was fine by I really hurt my head.

i ran over my dad's dell laptop on accident with my jeep wrangler. Long story short I put the bag next to a wheel, got distracted, felt a bump. Homeowners insurance decided to pay for a brand new machine. I talked him into our first mac, a powerbook G4, actually a couple of months before they went Intel. We've never bought another PC again - but since have bought 3 macbooks and an iMac.

I managed to miss the hard drive and was able to salvage all data from it.

It probably doesn't count as an accident but my iBook G4 was stolen at school. Man I missed that thing. It sturdy as hell, I never dropped it but hearing other iBook tales, it would have lasted me til this day. But on the bright side, my parents bought me a MacBook on Black Friday '07.
