Exactly this, plus the option to turn the throttling off. My phone was not shutting down before the update that instantly slowed my phone to the point of frustration.
This is what happened to me, i was ready to use the 6s for a 3rd year because it was still very fast (apple must have thought so too since they are STILL selling it new) but then the update came and freezing stuttering etc was what i got doing everything the morning after onwards. I bought an Android instead.
I'm not looking for any compensation, its just I wont buy another apple phone, and with the below thread showing that they "coincidentally" restricted battery info to apps in ios 10 that shows me they were covering up the issue with their battery, instead of letting people know that a new battery would negate their throttling "feature."
