Your way of twisting words to create meaning in your favor is the number one reason I NEVER trust law enforcement.
Wouldn't it then also be a way of twisting words to create meaning to one's favor to come up with how an apology isn't actually an apology?

You actually believe that?
They been doing this for a very long time and not only with iOS 10.2.1 and forward.
With each iOS update all older iPhones somehow slowed down to a crawl. And you had to buy the newer device to have a normal experience.
I bet if further CPU tests are done on other devices and previous iOS version this scandal will grow to epic proportions. ;)
Omfg the hysteria is getting rather funny now. And people wonder why it isn’t explained in detail. Well here we go, a great example of why it is better to release a little info as too much will make people jump to some wild conclusions.

This was your original statement:

"They have yet to apologize"

That was patently false and nor did you expand upon that for anyone else to fully understand your own view point, you just don't agree with how it was was reiterated to you when I advised they did in fact apologize, Just not to your liking. Therefore you don't like my response. Noted.

Sure, Were all just making it up.
They should keep telling their customers less.
Until the lawsuits start piling on and they will be forced to tell the truth in court and pay up big:D

In the context of where I commented and what you quoted from me yes. Jumping to unfounded and unqualified conclusions 100% Nobody is saying there isn't an issue, as per the release notes that was highlighted but not clearly enough as many didn't understand what it meant. But claiming that they the software feature was introduced well before that for other devices is based upon what exactly?

Ultimately nobody knows if Apple was planning to let us know about throttling but what we do know is that it took some guy to figure it out. Then when ppl were like yeah what the heck, Apple was like uhhh yeah. Sorry.

Lol.

Apple did let us know, they clearly stated that they were employing this. What they didn’t was explain it explicitly and clearly to those who didn’t read or understand it, nor did they make the messaging when it was happening in a clear and obvious place like a push notification.

I think the geekbench guy's findings is what got apple to fess up. The reddit guy got the ball rolling again but this issue was discovered months ago at least back to April, it was identified then on the official apple forums yet it took until now to go mainstream. I highly doubt Apple was gonna say anything.

look at some of the replies, especially from n808n808.

These were from April.

Nice to see such a mature and adult discussion about it then opposed to the hysterical outrage that is being created around it at the moment. Ah well some can now safe $50 on their battery upgrade good for a fast food meal for two :)

But believe what you want if you want to keep sipping that koolaid;)
I believe in facts.

Had you told me a year ago that Apple was throttling devices, I would not have believed you. Now, that is a different story. Fortunately, my career allows me to test these theories, particularly with Apple products. Unfortunately, I do not have access to large numbers of identical devices running Windows ( 5 Asus Zenbooks, running Windows10, fully updated - used for mean comparison testing ).

I do plan to start looking at the small supply of devices I have running Windows to see if there is a battery throttle, or any other throttle, when I return to work after the new year.

Not clearly enough and many didn't understand? Lol :D
You're joking right?
They did not disclose anything to their customers and hid the whole thing. It's nothing but a big scam.
Keep trying to twist it and make excuses though:D

Yeah sure. You don't believe in facts but in lies made up by Apple. :D

Valid point. Some are interjecting their own anecdotal frustrations versus taking time to actually read the stated release notes. It's just another way for others to use the throttling as leverage against Apple because their own personal frustrations with this company.

who reads the release notes before updating? Lol. apple provides this information on the update screen on the phone, without even a link to full release notes.. Notice they didn't mention the power management as a feature added to 10.2.1 for the world to see prior to updating.

That is entirely your choice. I ALWAYS read and investigate before updating, but I totally appreciate others may not. As long as anyone remembers that that is their choice.

that is way from the norm though. most people trust apple and just click update, especially when all they see is "bug fixes and security improvements" on the update screen

Might be, still a choice isn’t it ;)

I just had my battery changed on 12/2 at full price. Will Apple credit me the $50 if I call support? Anyone else have a similar situation?

Right now I feel for the iPhone X owners who went all out like I really want to do. I’m not too much better having dropped a pretty penny on my 8.

I actually woke up this morning thinking it’s a new year, maybe I’ll celebrate by getting the iPhone X. Kind of like a yolo attitude.

But it’s about trust.

Who’s to say I don’t spend like $1500 bucks (I need 256GB, AppleCare+, tax, cases) and then it’ll become a vastly different experience just months from now?

What else is Apple hiding from us that may make my iPhone experience worse in the coming months?

You can tell me to pull out my tin foil hat. Fine. But ask yourself if you said the same thing when rumors that Apple was intentionally slowing down iPhones were going around.

And that’s all I gotta say.

EDIT: I take that back. I have 1 more thing to say.

If Apple can guarantee I’ll get the same performance on day one from my $999+ dollar device a couple years down the road I’d buy one.

I want 3 years. And if I decide to upgrade sooner bc of advancements and features then I will. But I shouldn’t have to upgrade because my device lost performance.

AND YES I WILL CHANGE MY BATTERY WHEN NEEDED PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CHANGING BATTERIES SINCE LIKE THE BEGINNING OF BATTERIES!

This is ridiculous. Apple can not guarantee you three years. How can they? Do they watch you like a hawk? Do they tell you when to charge? How many times to charge? When to update to a new OS? All these variables they have no control of.

Don’t feel for the iPhone X users. We knew what we got and the majority of us are satisfied.

They did not indicate the throttling done and other shady moves they pulled secretly behind the scenes.
And that's why they have multiple lawsuits and bad publicity right now.
Good try though;)
This is going round and round in circles - what do you think the effect power management has on a CPU? The apology totally fits the historic events leading up to this moment.

Power management means slowing down the CPU to make up for faulty batteries?
Sorry not buying any of their bs.
Hmm that is an odd shifty response, it almost seems that you agree but don't want to admit it - this can be very simple how do you underclock a CPU?
