Strangely enough I don't lay on a couch or use any as a laptop replacement....7 or 8? And you have a Samsung Galaxy tab too if I remember. What do you do with all of those tablets?
What I meant to say is that i wouldn’t be able to use it on the couch or in bed anymore without the keyboard at those sizes. For me it would turn into more of a touch screen laptop.
What I do:
- iPad mini 2: 32 bits apps and games (IOS 10), including an app I need for work (a music app for my dance school, which is one of my businesses)
- iPad pro 9.7: replaces pen and paper for the dance school business (dedicated to that)
- iPad pro 10.5: after I bought the 11, it became a second monitor for Windows my University classes (I teach there as my main job) and generally a test device for betas (also use why I charge the 11)
- iPad pro 11 2018 1TB LTE with magic keyboard: my main iPad (videos, remote desktop, reading in portrait, etc)
- iPad pro 12.9 2018 with smart keyboard: my second most used iPad (portrait mode for PDF/PPT files for work and sheet music for playing music)
- iPad mini 5: use in bed and for podcast (also iPad for work travels, on holidays I bring the pro)
- iPad mini 4: stopped using it (battery very weak and too slow)
- iPad pro 12.9 2015: still trying to find a use case after I bought the 2018 last month, for now mainly used while I charge the 12.9 2018
- Tab S7+: movies and TV (I don't use my TV any more, not even my Apple TV 4k)
I also do things on most iPads (like browsing, checking security cameras etc.)
I don't lay on the couch, unless I have guests (and no iPad in that case), not my thing, maybe because I work from home most of the time.... so when I am not at my desk I am either reading (mainly 11 pro, sometimes 12.9), or holding while watching something and moving from one room to the other (but I have stands in every room, so for instance if I am eating, shaving, cleaning or whatever I never have to hold it...)
A 14-15in iPad would be used mainly for either watching videos or in portrait mode for documents (mainly on a stand, including a music rest for sheet music). Could be good also for remote desktop with a magic keyboard, but not as a laptop replacement (I don't replace laptops with iPads, but I have replaced many things I used to do with laptops, and I have replaced other things as pen and paper, music players etc...)
