‘Pissing’ :

http://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/pissing

In the U.K. it’s considered a swear word, like I said your acting like a condescending child. But I’m done with you as you’ve got nothing but insults.

I didn’t even say anything ‘insulting’ last comment either, you continue to make up things because you have nothing better to say to refute your incompetence. You’re acting too sensitive.

I only pointed out your hypocrisy in my last reply, because you started eating your own words (and you’ll likely do it again). You literally started acting out for what you were name-calling me for. Yikes. So saying that all I comment are insults is ridiculous (go back what you posted earlier, it was so uncalled for, all I did was explain why your autocorrect was so dumbed down because of your writing skills). All you’ve been replying is nothing but say I insult you. Before that, you didn’t bother to give me anything to back up your claims when you flat out told me I was wrong about autocorrect, and even you state that you were unsure about it. smh lol

Sorry you got offended when I indirectly said ‘pissing’, I thought we were both adults here.

The iPhone is like Bic Mac's at McDonald's "Over a billion served". They sell a ton of **** hamburgers, just because they're are top in sales, doesn't mean they are any good

Unlike McDonald's, they get stellar reviews from reputable non biased sites, so that comparison falls flat.

Android is more like McDonald's, since the junkiest of devices can run it, much like $100 PC's (plus you get the security holes, non updates/fragmentation, and privacy issues).

So here's the thing, Linus is a good reviewer for Window's tech stuff, since it's what he loves. He is clearly biased against Mac stuff, and I've heard him misquote specs on the regular when covering it on the Wan Show (his weekly tech show with Luke). He's good at covering other stuff though. That all being said, I'm going to mention your post, because I'm so sick of seeing it. Yes, PC culture in some ways has blown some things out of proportion. That being said, the girl in the second picture? she probably just got her third rape joke/harassment comment of the hour, and is sick of that ****. Yes, my grandfather had nazi's to fight at eighteen. These days, there's a major network that is basically in support of said Nazi's, and there's an entire party of the country that seems pretty okay with them as long as they are still on their side.
It's also the guys in the first pictures kids (baby boomers) who have done the worse damage to this country and planet, who are still the ones in power and robbing every other demographic blind.

There is a difference in taking personal responsibility for one's actions (something that PC culture does not address enough) and acknowledging and being aware of a system that has existed for hundred of years that stacks the deck against half the population and minorities. I say that as someone who has had plenty of privilege in his life (and knows people who have had a lot more) and has no problem being aware that we can do better for those of us who were not given a head start.

Yeah, not true. He doesn't credit iMessage really, which is a huge bonus, both on a social, a security and a practicality level. Also, Samsung has a worst life expectancy. It doesn't matter if it's a $100 dollars cheaper if it runs like garbage after a year and a half. My iPhone 6S+ runs better than today than it did when I bought it. It just needs a new battery, for $29 bucks. I'd love to see how people who bought the galaxy 6 are doing with their phones (Spoiler alert, they've upgraded to a One Plus or a new Samsung.)

iMessage is also a huge lock-in. There have been plenty of comments on here about people wanting to jump ship but not wanting to leave iMessage behind. Apple understands this and will never open it up.

People often respond to negative criticism of Apple devices by simply saying 'Don't buy it', suggesting that they go to some other forum. However, when people feel locked into the ecosystem, it isn't that simple.

Oh please. If she did get her third rape joke / harassment comment of the hour, it’s probably because that’s what she draws attention to and makes a huge deal out of. The internet is a mean place for everyone, being overly sensitive will only make it worse.
A major network in support of Nazis? Have you lost your mind? An entire party that’s okay with them? How many disavowements and strong criticisms do you need to hear to believe that isn’t true? Oh right, it doesn’t matter because your mind is already made up.

Yes LOL. Packed to the brim with off topic straw men.

I like Linus. Hes cool but doesn’t always have views that align with my own. But that does not give license to call him an “idiot” or demean his intelligence. A little kindness goes a long way

I don't mind him but he's really not cool. Is there anyone else who openly wears sandles with socks ? Each to their own though.

i dont understand what is the issue not having imessage. apparently people who are afraid to leave iphone just because of imessage have never heard other multiplatform services.

I think they have a network of family and friends who only use iMessage so they worry about being locked out if they switch to android.

I use an iPhone but 99% of my contacts use WhatsApp so that’s what I use.

Provide all the criticism you want in a non biased review (not Linus), and there won't be an issue.
As said, a lot of his review was spreading misinformation.
The dude just doesn't know iOS lol.

I am a big fan of Linus, but this review of the iPhone was so unfair and don't understand how such a reputable Youtuber gives such a hateful review?. I've had my Xs Max for a few weeks now and I am still impressed by it.

He said there is hardly any difference between X and Xs, well I bought Xs Max and it is a massive difference. And Linus, as PC users like me know, is a massive benchmark guy. The iPhone outperforms any other phone out there in terms of benchmarks, it is head and shoulders above even the closest competitor - Samsung. It's not even a competition. Why doesn't he address this?

He says the design is too similar, barring Xs Max, what about last two rounds of Samsung phones?

He complains about real estate on screen size? I prefer xs max, no bottom lip, and higher screen to body ratio.

He complains about Apple display being crap about thick bezels on xs. But the bezels and frame are much thicker on Note 9? What? And in terms of quality, I would say iPhone Xs Max is probably the second best screen on the market after Samsung's own.

Biggest point for me anyway is how reliably and smoothly iOS runs. Not the stuttering, freezing etc you see on Android. A better user experience, the apps all work better on iPhone.

Fair complains are headphone dongle maybe, and price definitively, it costs Apple £300 ish to produce xs max so it could be a bit cheaper.

The notch is not ideal, but it is the best. Only when watching videos it is a problem, and you get watch the whole video or enlarge it to full screen with the notch. After using the Xs Max, I would prefer this over the top and bottom chin of Samsung. And have you seen the number of manufacturers copying the notch now? Clearly it's selling s*** loads, so people are buying it.

I watched a bit of it tonight, and wow. The whiney voice, and there is something so closeted about him there, it's disturbing...

Linus is a very smart guy, but his channel is popular because he's a dick. Whether or not he's like that in real life or not I don't know but that's the character he plays because it works.. People watch his reviews because they know what they're getting - he nailed his colours to the mast a long time ago. He's anti-Apple and pro-Android and is going to be harsh and horrible about things he doesn't like.

To be honest, he can be horrible at a phone all he wants. Where Linus crosses the line is when he's openly criticising developers for their work in his usual harsh way. The sort of following he has is very reddit central and it causes witch-hunts. So what if he doesn't like the phone, it's when there's criticism of people it becomes a problem because of how the internet reacts.

I bought an iPhone XS Max tonight, and honestly... the only critic anyone should make against it is the weight.
I feel the weight differential against my iPhone 6S Plus, but it is the best iPhone I've ever owned...the OLED display is amazing to me.

Why so much hate on Linus, wow, I understand some might not like him, but there is almost unity in this thread, based on how much hateful comments there are.

Yes, Linus is a PC guy. He likes to build his own stuff, which makes him to not prefer Apple, by default. But he does not hate Apple.

Linus doesn't hate Apple, as a matter of fact, he is using an iPhone as his daily driver from time to time.

He is a person with an opinion, and he is expressing his opinion, Nothing to hate on that. I do, however, agree with him that iPhone XS (not max) is barely an upgrade from X. It is 99 percent the same phone from last year.
[doublepost=1540116572][/doublepost]
...the OLED display is amazing to me.

Samsung was making phones with amazing OLED displays long before Apple. WOW factor when looking at the OLED is only new to the iPhone users, the rest of the smartphone users have been using the smartphones with OLED panels for little less than a decade, while the Apple stubbornly refused to put it in their phones for lame reasons such as "color inaccuracy".

And it is absolutely embarrassing to put LCD screen on your less expensive phone just because "OLED" is expensive. You can lie to ignorant people this way, but everyone who is a little bit informed will know that even "J" models from Samsung have the OLED panels, and those phones are dirt cheap.

Yes, but did you read the entire thread? He misinforms with his "opinion" since he clearly doesn't know iOS that well.

Samsung was making phones with amazing OLED displays long before Apple.

You're clearly taking what I said out of context to suit your agenda.
Many are going to be happy with their LCD iPhone XR phones for example.

I was happy with the LCD on my SE. I just wanted a bigger screen and got the X. I am sure people won’t be disappointed with the LCD on the XR.

You said that iPhone XS is the best iPhone ever and you mentioned the OLED as one of the reasons. Therefore, I told you that we are almost in 2019 already, OLED panel is mandatory on phone which costs more than 1000 dollars. It is to be expected, anything less would be absolutely acceptable.

What would be REALLY amazing is if Apple made the XR with OLED, But they do not, due to their marketing strategy. And of course people are gonna love the LCD on their XR, like they would have an option. It is a fine LCD, no doubt in that, but it is still the LCD.

I have to wonder if you're placing too much value in the opinion of someone who has little to do with the design, manufacture and distribution of iPhones. Listening to opinions is beneficial, but nothing can replace buying what works for your needs. If you're happy with your iPhone, then just be happy and not waste your resources worrying about the opinions of others.. life is too short.
