Fingers crossed. I really feel bad for the company.

I don't feel quite so bad. From the article:

I don't think you do feel bad for Samsung (Not defending them). I think you post these threads to mock the Company, as you have with Apple. At least based off your thread history. Just my Opinion.

I'm not blind brand follower. Just state what's right and true. Right now Samsung is in big trouble and that's the truth.

it is no longer about selling Note 7 for profit. Samsung needs to act fast to defend their reputation if they want to survive smartphone business long term.

iPhones catch fire too. ;)

Not too long ago I saw that an iPhone 7 had caught fire in its box while in transit. Past iPhones have caught fire too.

Apple decide to make no official statement.

My opinion with Samsung is that they should obviously continue to replace Note 7 units and then when the new 8 is released offer some kind of discount for Brand Loyalty.

Not a free Vr or case etc but a sizeable discount off the new phone.

Esp after the court ruling them to pay millions to apple as well this week :)

Oh yeah that too. Bad times for the Korean giant. Although that money won't make a dent given the sheer size of Samsung.

Every phone can catch fire. That's not the point though.

Samsung knew about the Galaxy Note explosions...

http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/9/13215728/samsung-galaxy-note-7-third-fire-smoke-inhalation

"The phone is supposed to be the replacement, so you would have thought it would be safe," Klering told WKYT, saying that he had owned the replacement phone for a little more than a week. "It wasn’t plugged in. It wasn’t anything, it was just sitting there."

The most disturbing part of this is that Klering’s phone caught fire on Tuesday and Samsung knew about it and didn’t say anything. And actually, it gets worse than that.

Samsung asked Klering if they could take possession of the phone and he said no, though the company did pay to have it x-rayed — but the damning evidence comes in the form of a text message that Klering inadvertently received from a Samsung representative:

Just now got this. I can try and slow him down if we think it will matter, or we just let him do what he keeps threatening to do and see if he does it
