How often are people "racing" to launch apps? If that's what you do, then iPhone has an advantage.

I like to take random pictures. The current Samsung flagships have a hardware camera button (double tap home button). I can pull out my Note 7 and take a picture faster than any iPhone 7 user. iPhone users have to unlock, goto home screen, find camera app and launch it. No iPhone can even compare in this situation.
With raise to wake, pull the phone from my pocket and one swipe one handed. Or with my dslr I can take a picture in .25 seconds. So here we go into the abyss.

i said it can affect samsung reputation, which can affect their mobile business. I did not say they are out of mobile business.

you said: Samsung needs to act fast to defend their reputation if they want to survive smartphone business long term.

isnt that the same thing as "out of mobile business"?

android fans claim that Note 7 is the best phone with the superior spec. from anantech review, iphone 7 plus beats Note 7 on almost every performance categories up to 50% or more.

"i-anandtech" - no one takes them seriously anymore.

Raise to wake, swipe to right. Done. There is no need to unlock device, and no need to search for camera app.

doesnt "raise to wake" work only with iphone 6S and higher with ios10?

Err .. sorry you are wrong.

Unless you are a user who doesn't use raise to wake. Just saying, raise to wake is a bit of a pita and I'll bet not everyone uses it. I find it annoying at times, but do use it mostly.

This is where these convos usually go downhill. So even if you don't use raise to wake pull the phone out while simultaneously pressing the power button and then swipe.:p

Yes, but even on any device running iOS 10 you can press home button or power button and swipe right to camera and you don't have to unlock the device or go searching homes screens for an app icon as the poster asserted.

Below iOS 10 you can still use the lock screen shortcut to launch camera. :)

Cool, I just tried it. Works nicely. I think it's just a matter of muscle memory, I've been used to double tap for such a long time.

I think it works better with the power button, as if you press the home button you then unlocked the phone if you have it set up that way.

Ad I said there is some bias, but it's not coming from anandtech. I trust their reviews more than others. Oh, I agree about their assessment about the over saturated s7 camera.

I very clearly posted the contradictions between them and other reviewers.Seems you are just reading what you want to read. The battery life part is an absolute joke.I needed to charge my iPhone 6 twice a day and it still ended up at 23% at the end of the day.On my 7 Plus on a single charge I am at 20% at the middle of the next day.iPhone 7 battery isnt that much of an upgrade over the 6.

Oversaturated or maybe just more color accurate?I love how people call some washed out images accurate with a sense of superiority

Anything and everything that comes out of Apple has been given a Gold/Silver award by them.I regard them just a step above iVerge.Ars Technica is the only unbiased Apple reviewer along with some YouTube channels

There doesn't seem to be any bias present. Certainly comes down to who supports your case is the more "trustworthy" source; certainly welcome to use them.:) And oversaturated never means more accurate.

Raise to wake is an other convenient feature, missing out by not using it.

Not enough for it to ever matter. Certainly not on the phone I use. You get great battery life either way.

I also don't believe in switching a good feature off to save battery life.

When a random person who likes tech, starts a website and starts reviewing stuff, and they seem to favour one brand, and then said person gets a job working at that brand, I think it says it all...
These people are not journalists, they are just normal people like anyone else and .let have never had any journalist training or education, yet people take what they say as gospel. A person on You Tube is no different to me.

Bluetooth uses up battery, using apps uses up battery, cellular connection uses up battery, the phone ringing or vibrating uses up battery, just turning on the screen uses up battery...not worth it.

I agree with you. a person on Youtube isn't neither a journalist nor a reviewer; a lot of websites out their shingles up yesterday and do neither well. anandtech has been around for years which is why they are the preeminent journalists and reviewers.

If there is any bias it is not coming from anandtech.

I have always thought of anandtech as biased to Apple, the founder leaving his website for his job at Apple only cemented my opinion further really.

I completely understand but don't agree. However if one looks hard enough they might find they can unearth bias or what looks like bias virtually everywhere.

Right.A company whose boss works at Apple is a totally unbiased reviewer

It's so dumb how people think because he went to Apple that he had been biased the whole time. Kevin Rose is a huge Apple fanboy, he worshiped Steve Jobs, but when Google offered him a job he took it and switched to android and sang its praises. Couldn't it be that he was offered a good job making lots of money and decided to take it? And don't you think Apple hiring practices go farther than "Hey, this guys been giving us great reviews, let's hire him!"?

Well since we are all talking about Anand, whatever did Apple end up doing with him? He was a pretty fair, insightful critic and evaluator of Apple products, as I recall. Then he was hired by Apple and I personally haven't heard boo about him or from him since.
