How could it be any better?

- Proper keyboard (size and more angles while using keyboard)
- Proper multitasking
- No protruding camera
- OLED
- More ram
- Proper charging speed
- Proper browser
- Proper apps and proper optimized apps
- Proper interest from developers
- Mouse support

I love the 10.5 so much, it's hard to imagine how to make it better.

I wouldn't mind 3D Touch, but Apple's implementation of it on the software side is so poor I don't know if I want it. But it should be a game changer. Make rich robust HUD features using 3D Touch could boost productivity apps. I just don't think Apple is that committed to iPad software. (Although iOS 11 gives me hope.)

What I really want is amazing next gen accessories.

I want an Apple Pencil which inductively charges in a carrying slot in both the Smart Keyboard and Smart Cover.

This way, I always have my Apple Pencil, with me and it's always charged. I bought the leather case which has a slot for the pencil, but it doesn't charge it and frankly, it's a bit ackward and old fashioned feel to what is the future of computing. You shouldn't need a big leather sleeve. Just make the cases better. I'd pay more for it...make a pro Edition if need be. Cases with an inductive charging slot... I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I really want a browser that’s customizable like the desktop browsers are. That’d be cool to have something like the chrome web store for extensions for example. Not even Android has this though.

Mouse support - Probably the biggest change needed in my estimation to allow for the transitioning of Laptoppers to Tablet Users... Once you have both, it would give a useful option for those who excel with this type of user interface, and allow folks to work on the transition or keep it BOTH WAYS, for their personal styles.

OLED - Not so much for a nicer display, but to reduce battery consumption, Display speed and fluid "ProMotion" would be equal if not better as well... but energy would be the biggest gain, and it would add charge life to allow for more complex programs without killing battery life so much.

OSX - Or some melding of the OS that is far more OSX to allow ALL possibilities in Software Programs/Apps

Storage Connectivity - USB (whatever type) or even a Micro SD card slot for portability of files without sacrificing on board Storage or having to utilize Cloud storage that costs... one way or the other...

Coming from an iPad 3 I used want a bezel less iPad but these new thinner bezels seem thin enough to me.

Since upgrading to the ipad pro 10.5 it feels less comfortable to hold because I've changed the way I hold the iPad trying to avoid touching the edge of the screen. I know it's supposed to ignore touches around the edges of the screen but for me it doesn't work as good as I was expecting it to. Also I mostly use my iPad in bed laying back with a pillow on my chest with the iPad on top. But now with thinner bezels about an inch of the screen usually ends up buried into the pillow then I re adjust the pillow to make it firmer so the iPad doesn't sink in.

That are some really good practical observations. I'm being serious. I noticed the same thing going from an ipad 3 to a mini 2.

I had not thought of that one yet, but yes I agree. I love the Chrome extensions and wish I had them on the iPad.

Anyone switched from Air 2 to 10.5"? I'm tempted to get it now since it's $100 off at BB but not sure it's worth it to upgrade. I don't plan on using the pencil. 80% my use is web browsing and 20% gaming.

I did and love it! Its worth it since its on sale.

Samsung browser on tab s3 allows extensions...love the adblock

There are tablets out there with most of these capabilities...u just need to change OS.

Pointing out the obvious here probably... but this was not a discussion about how can we get all the things we want in a tablet... it was about what we would like to see in a future iPad Pro 10.5" model...

Looks like you don't apple much at all, according to your signature list... This is kind of a Mac forum... right?

I have yet to see a full-on OLED on anything tablet that's less than a "Hybrid". Yet Samsung keeps playing the game with the AMOLED displays, which are not actually OLED at all, but something entirely different. It does have a nice display, but the difference is pretty amazing if you go look at OLED next to AMOLED... AMOLED has less contrast... both are quite energy efficient, but the OLED wins that fight as well. I suggest the Best Buy comparison... they usually have them next to each other to create envy of the LG units, to boost LG sales. It IS that Stark of a difference to me.

But Again... this discussion is really not about that... it's about what would make the 10.5" iPad Pro a better tablet for folks who are interested.

There is still nothing PRO in any of the iPads. It doesn’t even allow us to use 512 GB as portable storage device.
iOS 11 with its fake Files app does zero towards making it PRO.

Whenever Tim Cook opens up his mouth to glorify how “iPad is so good for Professionals and that we need to ditch our PCs”, I feel like slapping him.
Excessive reliance on Cloud, pushing their iCloud drive, Music services just reeks of ulterior motives. In short it is just a glorified consumption device with iOS 1 like icon interface masquerading as a device for professionals and creators. Exactly like how Microsoft marketed Windows 10 Creator’s Update.

Apart from that, I love this 10.5” iPad. The size is exactly right in “Goldilocks zone” of screen sizes for tablets. ProMotion display after a week use feels like not even there. Just a few days novelty until your eyes adjust to it.

Next iPad 2019 model needs OLED, no home button and USB-C port with FULL file management.

I think it's a large step toward "Pro," perhaps semi-pro. ;) It doesn't replace my rMBP, but it's closer than my iPad Air was.

I agree with your love for the 10.5. I found it to be as "Goldilocks" concerning screen size as iPad has. A tad larger would be even better for me, but 12.9 pushes it past tablet usage for me. I wanted the 12.9 and tried to like it, but I returned it for the 10.5.

Lol they are actually OLED...where did you get that from....it's a reason why Apple is buying displays from samsung. I never seen someone say samsung displays are not actually OLED when in fact they are. Go do some research...you need to based on your idiotic assertions.

The Galaxy tab S3 and the Galaxy tabpro S and the 12 in Galaxy book are all OLED...Thanks

Some educational facts for you :):):):

There are primarily two types of OLEDs:

PMOLED: Passive Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode uses a simple control scheme in which each row in the display is controlled sequentially. PMOLEDs are easy and cheap to fabricate but they are not efficient and their lifetime is usually less. They are typically used in smaller displays of up to 3 inches.

AMOLED: Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode is mainly driven by a TFT, which contains a storage capacitor and can hence support larger displays. AMOLED displays have no size restrictions and work on the same fundamental principles of an OLED display.

In fact, all of LG's OLED TVS are driven by a active matrix so they themselves are AMOLED as well.

Samsung's latest phones and tablets have nearly infinite contrast ratios so you are wrong in that regard as well SMH.

You know something... You're absolutely right... My post was based on a LOT of research... but it was based on TV's and I completely apologize... What I was remembering was pretty recently looking into Samsung UHD TV's vs LG and the tech difference between OLED and QLED... which is what the many inquiries I made were comparing. QLED is nothing like OLED... AMOLED... yes... is pretty much the same... My apologies. No need to delete the post since it's been copied into yours already...
