Didn't realize the "How long have you been developing for iOS?" question wasn't something you had to type out, I had a whole paragraph in pages lol....

Now that everything is almost due, anyone willing to say what they did? I went into this having no idea what they expected and threw my app together in only a few days. Also, because I know someone asked, I'm 18. (a freshman at the Cooper Union)

I did a sliding UI based in a scroll view, kinda like the login page of the linkedin app with custom buttons that organized info about me and my projects. How about you guys?

Here's what I made:

I'm 15, second time applying for WWDC. Got rejected last year...

Looks awesome Xius! I actually don't have any apps in the App Store, although I have made a few, but never got around to submitting them/didn't think people would care haha.

Here is what my main menu looks like...

So I just tried installing my ipa file in itune sand syncing my phone, but it says it failed to install, does this mean apple won't be able to view it?

Thanks....this is odd now:

I just exported it a different way from xcode and got a .app file, which installed fine....now I'm a little worried that the .ipa didn't work...

How did you export a .ipa directly? The only way I have known to get one is either by changing a .ipa extension to .zip and unzipping or by showing the package contents of a Xcode archive.

Product>Archive>then from the archives tab in organizer, i clicked distribute, then save for enterprise or ad-hoc.....it saved an .ipa to my desktop...I zipped it and uploaded it to apple :/

That looks sick brah! You should just put whatever you have on the App Store. You never know what you might get out of it!

That's what I did too, don't worry if it doesn't run on your device. They're Apple, they own the whole thing haha and plus they have your xcode project file so it should be allgoods.

The images I used aren't in the zip with the xcode project though :(

Think that might be an issue? lol I used a lot of images too....

When on the phone, I said I was concerned about that as well. The man I spoke to said that the project file is just there so they can verify you used xcode and objective-c to make your app and not something else or another language. Also your images are all in the .ipa or .app :)

Did anyone bother making the app for iPhone and iPad?

Nope, my app is having trouble running on a non 4" screen device...it runs just how I want on my iPhone 5, but on the iOS simulator which I believe is the iPhone 4's size, everything is moved up/down a little

No... I have a notification fire when the app is launched asking them to please use an iphone 5 with iOS 6 because I didn't have time to make it work on a 3.5 inch screen.

My app wasn't too static so it wasn't too hard making it for both models. How many hours did you guys spending making this though?

Probably around 20 hours? That's a complete guess. I wasnt planning on applying until next year and then at the last minute decided why not and went crazy on it for 5 days. How about you?

I've lost count. For the last 8 days I've been coding about 4-5 hours a day working on a super important update for my app and this WWDC app side by side.

I had a couple games in my app. I really went all out this past week as I didn't have school.

What do you guys think the acceptance rate will be? I figure its probably only west coast students applying and the barrier to entry is so high, we shouldn't have that low of chances?

I've been working on it (including the essay questions) since the day after they announced it. I've been doing the app about 3-4 hours a day since Monday..

Not too sure about that...I'm from the east coast...not sure how many people applied though-hope it's less than 150 XD

I'm 17, my school just doesn't bother with forcing seniors to learn nothing after finding out the college we are going to.
