Yeah it's just one of those things - I gave it a shot and whilst I love the headphones and Walkman stuff, nothing else sang to me. That doesn't mean it doesn't sing to others.

They're definitely must be something wrong with the camera on mine then because yeah I'm just not getting those results, and we all know I can take a photo, but the end result on mine just really underwhelming, and yet everywhere else reports great camera so I just don't know what's going on.

I think the straw that broke the camels back, was I got my Nilkin tempered glass protector and when I put it on, there was a fault in the protector leaving a horrid smudge line underneath the glass and I couldn't remove it. I know this is nothing to do with the phone but a fault of the protector, yet it felt like "another thing on the list of why it's not for you MRU... "

I'm sure others will get great enjoyment from the Z2, but it just wasn't for me.

Newest firmware update is out (in Europe) 17.1.1.A.0.402. Someone posted the FTF in the XDA forums and I'm going to try it now!

Update on new firmware:

Good: Holy crap it's much faster than ever, haven't tried anything else yet.
Bad: I can see why MRU hates the bloatware. The European version has more bloat than the Taiwanese version but luckily the apps were easy to uninstall!

I have a carrier (vodafone) Z2 so I likely won't get this just yet I suppose?
 
Tried the phone today. Was nice. Much better than the S5 IMO.

Although I won't buy it because there are many reports of problems (mainly the overheating).

But the device is cool. I enjoyed using it a WHOLE lot more than the S5.
 
Just noticed that the Z2a has been announced, hadn't seen it mentioned around here yet.

Essentially a proper Z2 compact: same specs as the Z2, same camera too, while having a significantly smaller footprint - despite the screen being only 0.2" smaller!

Just look at that sexy screen to bezel ratio:

So far it's said to be slated for the Asian market only though :mad:

I know huh... I mean, this is what the Z2 should have been from the start really. Maybe they'll release the Z2a in the west as soon as they've sold off more of their Z2 stock. Or well, one can hope :eek:

Yeah with many carriers only just getting the existing Z2 I can't see them shifting enough stock to warrant releasing another variant anytime soon over here, sadly.

IMHO...this is where Sony is failing. They have only released their flagship phone in limited availability. Last year it was the Z1s but to TMO only. Then no advertising and the store employees ignored the phone. Some rumors have the Z2 coming to Verizon but by the time it gets there it will be time for the Z3!
Maybe the Z3 will have the same bezels as this Z2a......

yea, I've noticed every MKBHD video theres comments about him ignoring sony. followed by comments from people sayng theyve never seen a sony phone in the wild. I think I saw my first one the other day at Universal Islands of Adventure, so they could have been from overseas :p

I like their phones, they are just so hard to buy. The sony situation in USA is like europeans (well the rest of the world really) with respect to GPE phones.

Hah, come to think of it I haven't seen a single Sony phone being used either. Oh wait, a friend of a friend uses an old Xperia Mini but that's pretty much it. Been seeing surprisingly many Nexus 5 lately, but no Z1/Z2.

Your levels of self-sabotage know no bounds.

This is what the Z2 should have been. This is probably what the Z3 will be. But it will be too late by then.
 
Any more updates on this phone after a few months of use?
