Make sure you download the firmware updates and turn off X-Realty!

Is it something I need to download manually on the computer? I checked for updates on the phone and it says I am all up to date. I also checked Sony's site and they have this listed:

Latest available software: 17.1.A.2.55

That is the version I currently have on my phone.

Also, are you using your phone on AT&T or T-Mo? I can't seem to get the LTE icon on T-Mo, only 4G, and I'm wondering if that is just because its an international phone or if I should expect to get the LTE symbol...

Yes, on that firmware 4G means LTE

Cool I thought so, because the speeds are quite good when comparing to my Verizon phones.

Is there a newer firmware that shows the LTE icon, or was that in an older firmware?

That was in the older firmware.

Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 ain't got nothing on the Z2. As I said earlier, I wish the Z2 had more exposure in the US. It would definitely be a contender in this market.

I'm definitely impressed so far. The only thing I was concerned about was how T-Mobile's data speeds would compare to Verizon here in Phoenix. So far it seems to be pretty favorable. I've had good speeds everywhere I've gone with the Z2 today.

Just got it an hour ago, box contents:

A little disappointed I didn't get the dock, but the noise-cancelling headphones sound very good.

I also took a shot of my current rotation:

I will post some impressions once I use it a few days. I'm thinking since I'm using all these phones I may make a few video reviews eventually, maybe they will be useful to someone.

Looks great. I'm still just getting acquainted with my new Z1 Compact but liking the experience so far.

Here's a quick shot of the Z1 Compact alongside my last 3 phones.

Thew Z2 was on my radar as a must have phone. But along with producing a great phone is distribution. Sony seems to have some distribution and production problems. The Z2 seems to be in hight demand and Sony cannot meet those needs right now. As it stands now...if the Z2 comes to the US carriers it might be too late. Sony has said it will have a new flagship phone release every 6 months. So the Z3 is not far from reality. Maybe in the fall around Sept....

Have you noticed the grid line of dots on the screen in bright light? Maybe its a bit more noticeable to me since its so dam sunny here in Arizona, but I've noticed it quite a bit when I'm out. I am assuming it is the touch sensors, the guy who did the review here has a decent picture of it:

Yes I do see those line of dots in the sun holding it at an angle but it happens rarely.

Yeah, its super hot! It took me awhile to get used to the summers here once I moved from Flagstaff.

I'm in Tempe myself, I just finished my PhD last year at ASU and now work there as a postdoc researcher.

Nice collection!

Thanks, about to unload the Note 2 and HTC One as even 2 phones is pushing it for my needs, though I do really like the One. The Sony is just a better size and the combo of great camera and being waterproof make it the perfect companion to my iPhone.

I knew it! :) Look forward to reading your thoughts!

I know. I'll post my S5 review tomorrow and get prepped for playing with Z2 when it arrives Tuesday. I trading for the White Z2 as i read the white masks finger prints more. I'm just gonna go scouring amazon for the charging dock/cradle and an toughened glass protector.

^ at this rate ill likely end with that too lol. However I'm not a fan of LGs software at all (really detest it) no matter how tempting the hardware is...

Are you using a case on yours and screen protectors. I've ordered decent ones because I've seen from YOUTUBE the device is a bit of a finger print magnet. Is that true?
