Looks bad tbh and I’m disappointed as I wanted to try the Xs ahead of the XR release to see if it’s worth the price tag . As I like the size more coming from a iPhone 7, But looks like it’s a phone to avoid at the moment especially if it turns out the connectivity issues are caused by antenna design . nobody knows for sure the cause yet so till then That’s my main reason I’m avoiding the Xs for now . So hopefully the XR doesn’t have same issue

Oh look, a newly released device having issues at launch...

Just sucks for a Snow Leopard like iOS release and an S-cycle

Not that all users are affected but from my calculations it does seem a bit bumpy. Not catastrophic but

Add screengate to the list too even tho all users aren’t affected (the XS max I saw was fine but I don’t doubt there are heaps of crap units)

Screens are too subjective, but the things I listed are documented problems. It’s really not confidence inspiring, and such basic problems are not acceptable on a $1000+ devices.

It doesn't matter the release, we all expect our devices to work from the get go with the price you pay. If it were Samsung or LG, I would say return your stuff and find somewhere else to spend your $. With Apple, they are more active with product support and could push updates fairly quick for software issues. Plus, people can swap devices at an Apple Store with less hassle than the competition.

Does it suck you have to swap out a device early on? Hell yes. But it's a small concession to deal with rather than being asked to re-order new phones or take it to UBreakIFix if the device is 2 days old (Samsung made me do this BS).

I've had momentary reception issues -- or, technically, signal acquisition issues when coming out of some buildings -- but none of the others. Obviously, that doesn't mean others haven't seen these issues.

I wouldn't be opposed to something being done about signal acquisition, if possible, but I am so far satisfied with my Max, even it is is a bit pricey and imperfect.

If Apple does nothing else, I am sure they will issue an update that will cause more “bars” to be indicated so that most will be happy. I have not had a single dropped call and the WiFi works as good as my X or better at 193mbps on Xfinity. It is fast as I have seen.

Curious what your image processing issue is.

I've had no dropped calls and my wifi is still as fast as my provider gives me -- 200 Mbps, depending on the time of day. I haven't done a throughput test, but neither my phone nor my routers are the bottleneck on internet speeds.

I don't disbelieve that there are dropped calls and the like. I'm hopeful that there is some way to address the issues some people are seeing, but I don't think the sky is falling on the Xs.

Breaking News: Operating system software created by fallible, flawed human beings sometimes has bugs that aren't seen or caught until a product release.

In other news, water is still wet.

Well, no one is sure if the reception and WiFi issues are a bug or a hardware issue. Won't be the first time..........

You are looking at the Display wrong.
Pictures don’t show it justice, especially when using an iPhone 5S to capture this, but True Tone is defective as well as the screen. Too harsh on the yellow, and without True Tone, the display is dimmer and the color temperature leans more towards yellow (hard to see).

Keeping my fingers crossed that it is indeed just a software issue and not hardware.

They just don't get it! Mistakes happen, who cares if your $1000 phone cannot charge or get reception.

Haters, all of 'em!

Have you tried looking at the phone like this, should help:

Image processing issues
Reception issues
WiFi issues
Charging issues

Pretty poor for an S cycle device...
It will be interesting to see what happens with the XR.

I'm guessing it will NOT have the cell reception or WiFi issues, due to its different hardware design. It will still likely suffer from beautygate with the front camera though.

Apple isn't perfect. It is one thing to point out concerns and dislikes that amount to preferences, rather than anything crucial. It is quite another to troll the forum with mocking posts. What you are doing isn't informative or productive, in my opinion.
