Under that logic, the X would have come out right away last year, or perhaps earlier than the 8/8+.

Most of the analysts believe the XR was delayed due to component supply issues, and in fact said so several months before the actual launch. The specific issue was the LCD. Not sure what the problem was, but this is Apple's biggest phone LCD, as well as its first LCD with a notch, and also Apple's first display of any sort using the CGS process.

Certainly is a reasonable answer. It was also reported there were software issues which is even more reasonable. But Apple could have just as easily prioritized the Xr with the Xs/Max following a month later. After all, last year the 8/8Plus predated the X...

Here is a video showing the "Yellow screen tint" mine seems a little warm honestly but not sure if the screen is defective or if its normal

Looks bad tbh and I’m disappointed as I wanted to try the Xs ahead of the XR release to see if it’s worth the price tag . As I like the size more coming from a iPhone 7, But looks like it’s a phone to avoid at the moment especially if it turns out the connectivity issues are caused by antenna design . nobody knows for sure the cause yet so till then That’s my main reason I’m avoiding the Xs for now . So hopefully the XR doesn’t have same issue
I don't know how it can be an antenna design problem with all the testing done by Apple before release.

Exactly. Those would be Xr purchasers picked up an Xs/Max because they couldn't wait

Or, how many even know about the XR right now aside from tech users? My guess is not many. Why? Because Apple doesn’t Have any marketing. So they (The consumer) really only see the iPhone XS and XS Max, because Apple has not emphasized the XR at all, aside from the Keynote, which A large portion of consumers do not pay attention to. They only see what Apple markets.

On the flipside, by having the XR having a separate launch, does give it its sole opportunity to be highlighted by itself and not competing directly against the XS.

My GF who is 40 something and absolutely not a techy... not even a redditer... told me she wanted to get an Xr within 48 hours of the gather round event. All I mentioned was I was ordering an new iPhone.

We literally never discuss tech stuff because she’s just not into it. I Can’t even watch Sci-fi shows around her. She makes fun of my shows by making a beep beep boop beep sound.

P.S. in the end she decided she couldn’t wait and ordered an XS.

What is your girlfriend coming from?

If you don’t mind me asking, how is she liking it over the 6?

She's thrilled but not about the price LOL. She adjusted to the home bar immediately. She also loves the new speakers as she often likes to use her phone for music when cooking.

From what you mentioned about your girlfriend, it sounds like she has a software bug. Making fun of Sci-Fi and other tech / geek things is not normal operating behavior.

You might try rebooting or setup as new. The fact that she likes the new iPhone XS is a good sign. That shows problems are not hardware related, and this reoccurring bug behavior is software related and can be fixed with subsequent OS updates.

Pretty rocky

10 million in three days guess the op was wrong.
Like they are every year.

I wonder what the return ratio is compared to other years.

A fraction of a fraction of a percent at most. The "techies" on MR, the very few who have returned, don't represent the public.
And there is the problem. "MOST" people go about their merry way and don't even know they are having these problems. Even bloggers are hardly addressing the issue for fear they might not get invited to Apple events.
And Apple knows this!

Or only a small fraction of people are seeing an issue. Even only a fraction of "techy" forum members actively looking for them can reproduce the various issues; charging and reception.

There is no such right answer where "the sheep are simply ignoring it and Apple can do no wrong to them" That's not reality.

All I know is that this is the second Max I have gotten with these issues. I am going to return it and order again ONE last time. If the 3rd one still has these issues, that tells me all "I" need to know!

Wrong with what? I don't remember making any sales forecasts, but rather listing issues - which is correct as they had to release 12.0.1 (3 weeks later), which didn't fix ALL issues yet (poor LTE reception for some users).

Good day to you sirs. :)

Apple isn't perfect. It is one thing to point out concerns and dislikes that amount to preferences, rather than anything crucial. It is quite another to troll the forum with mocking posts. What you are doing isn't informative or productive, in my opinion.

And your post below was informative and productive? It wasn't sarcasm?

Breaking News: Operating system software created by fallible, flawed human beings sometimes has bugs that aren't seen or caught until a product release.

In other news, water is still wet.
