My iPhone looks great with the True Tone on during the day in bright conditions, but piss yellow at night. If I turn TT off entirely, the screen isn’t as white during the day. It sucks because I don’t want to have to toggle on and off constantly.
TT off.Now I’m jealous of that beautiful screen.
If you replace it via support they’ll charge you £29 (and a credit card hold until your old device is returned) for an express replacement. You don’t need Apple care for this. Oh, and the problem is one of your volume buttons is wonky. Hint hint. The problem with express replacements is that they are stock that’s been around for a while which means a higher change that it’s not resolved. Whereas, new retail units are fresh off of the production line. Week 50’s are now rolling out.I don't have apple care + .. but with apple care is it possible to have your device changed to another? and above all how much would it cost? because if they don't recognize it as a problem, I don't think they'll change it for free
This is normal. True tone makes the screen warmer in low/indirect/warm light and colder in bright light. The ‘warming’ seems wayy too aggressive on my phone too but that could simply be due to the already warmer / yellow tinted screens. My iPhone looks great with the True Tone on during the day in bright conditions, but piss yellow at night. If you're in cold light surroundings, like the outside on an overcast day, TT is supposed to make the screen cooler opposed to warmer. Why does turning off True Tone give the display a warmer appearance during the daytime? Shouldn’t it be the opposite?
Turn dark mode on the forums here. Now look side by side with an iPhone 12 and any other iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or iMac. The iPhone 12 looks gross and green. It's more than it just being "warmer". Something is really wrong.Did you even read the original post???
Let me link it for you -

He is comparing two different iPhone 12’s to an iPad but in completely different lighting conditions with True Tone on. Therefore it makes sense the iPhone 12 on the left is more red compared to the one on the right as it’s in pitch black and it also looks like night shift is on.
both iPhone 12’s are WARMER than the iPad I agree - as all are this year. However, the OPs assumption that the one on the right is better makes no logical sense as they’ve been compared in completely different conditions and True Tone will behave differently.
Yes it’s week 45 too. You are right, minis have lack of demand, that’s why I exhange for a 12What build week is this? Most minis seem to be stuck on wk45 assuming lack of demand? Meanwhile pro/pro max are up to week 49.
Huge issue, huh? You do realize that you returned the iPhone 4 times in a row and saw the same thing every time while at least 10 million+ other people do not see what you see? When I read the yellow screen thread every year started by a few select people, I can’t help but chuckle.
You’re changing lighting conditions every 10 minutes? Interestingturning off autobrightness is not acceptable for me.
I don't want to manage myself every 10 minutes to brightness to find the best ft for the externatl light conditions...
This is basically where mine is at. It’s a noticeable improvement, but definitely not a perfect white. But I’m keeping it as it’s probably the best screen I’m gonna find and I don’t wanna do the lottery over and over again.I ordered a new iPhone 12 Pro Max on 12/4 and it got here today.
The screen is less yellow than my launch day 12 Pro Max.
New left, old right.
I’m in Europe. All my iPhones were sent from Italy.
please keep us informedI'm in France and my two mini's were send from Netherlands "SYNCREON" warehouse, both yellow tinted... So I returned-it and get the iPhone 12 classic, hope the screen will be better.
Apple has confirmed the problem, what more could you want ?Huge issue, huh? Yes, please do that, and come back with the results, that would be some constructive criticism !You might be part of apple defenders movement. Order and measure some 12s and then we talk again. And also compare with other year apple devices. Specially with True Tone on.
