i read different things here. Some talking about a too agressive True Tone some mentioning it has nothing to do with True Tone but have a yellow tint screen due with True Tone off. I called Apple Support today’s and the genius told me that it is the normal behavior of all 12s iPhone. I also mentioned the raised black issue and he said he is not aware of such a problem and that I should take an appointment with a store. This is what I will do and will show them if I can go to a dark room with one of them. Yes just to show them the pixels not turning off...nothing else 😅

- I got the 12 mini first- awful yellow display. Returned.
- Got another one, much better - but still yellowish compared to my wife's 11. Then yesterday I compared to a 12 Pro and it's whites were as milky white as the 11 of my wife so 12 mini number 2 also goes back. Not sure what to do at this point. Frustrating as I love the 12s for what they are.
Don’t give me hope, now I’m trying to swap my minI the second time

Could you please check the production week for me

Here’s an update contacting Apple Support
”After looking into this, I found that Apple is aware of this issue and is working continuously to fix it.
Right now, I can advise you to keep your iPhone up date with the latest iOS software”
“It’s been more than a month and multiple updates has been out. When will Apple fix it?”
”I am happy to consult a senior advisor for you! Just a few moments.”
2000 years later
”Our engineers and developers are currently working on the issue, and sends out updates to fix bugs as we get a resolution for them. All I can recommend is keeping an eye out for updates and chatting back in at a later time if the issue persists.”

Okay so they decide to do nothing

keep an eye out for that return policy expiring then apple will say keep an eye out for the 2021 iPhones

She got used to it, definitely. Or is just trolling.
Do you not think that this is more likely down to you getting used to the device? Otherwise, all of the phones that are on display in the retail stores would show less yellow, since they are on constantly throughout the day - probably way longer than 10 hours.

If you really believe that your display has become less yellow over time, would you mind posting a picture of the screen, compared to another recent Apple device? The other photos you posted were screenshots which aren't any use.
Hi, can you be more specific? like you use ur phone with auto brightness all the time? and what do you mean cold temperature? the colder the temperature the more yellow tint?
NO guys! I’m not trolling. I honestly think it’s just the luck of the draw. However I also believe overtime screen tends to get more white and the yellow warm tends to go away. There’s really nothing you can do to fix it unless you change the screen settings. Like I said earlier, it’s just the luck of the draw. I don’t believe there’s any technique to it.

Just enjoy your iPhone and wait till September 2021 for the new iPhone to be released. It’ll atleast have a 120HZ display. Major changes to the screen is coming. :)

I’ll attached some pictures with white background from today and you guys can compare it with your iPhone.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I really do think you are confused. You quoted my last post, where I said that screenshots are useless, but you posted more screenshots. Just to be extra clear, screenshots are useless. Useless screenshots are. Screenshots? Useless.

Screenshots cannot capture how the display reproduces the colour; they only display what is being sent to the screen. You need to take a photograph of the display, and for context, it needs to be next to another device for comparison. Even then it's not accurate, but it at least will reveal differences between the displays. I'm guessing you have other Apple products near you that you can do this with? If so, why not post a quick picture on here to see if we can see what you see?

Telling us to wait for 2021 phones isn't helpful - even if it is written in bold - but I think you know that.

Got it! Thanks for clarifying that. Once I get home I will take side by side shots from my iPhone 11 Pro Max to iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Wait a minute! Where did I say that the screenshots you posted are useless???

I said screenshots are useless. I edited the wording in my post above, as it was a bit unclear.

It would be great if you could post some actual pictures of the screen next to a recent MacBook or something. Make sure TrueTone and Night Mode are off on both devices and that a standard color profile is used on the Mac.

Thanks

Thank you! I will do that.

I think my 12 pro max is going back as expensive as it was the homescreen won’t even rotate to landscape with this huge real estate what a waste. Home and other apps like FB and Twitter won’t go into landscape mode yes removed widgets and restarted control panel Lock Screen off. Geez even my 6s plus would rotate the Home Screen

Screen Comparision - Left: iPhone 11 Pro Max 512 GB (2019) vs Right: iPhone 12 Pro Max 512 GB (2020).

100% Brightness.
True Tone Turned off.

iPhone 12 Pro Max does have a little yellow screen compare to iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, I think that's due to the usage of timing. iPhone 11 Pro Max was used heavily for over 14 months due to the 2020 model being delayed. Overtime iPhone 12 Pro Max screen will get better I believe. However, It is not yellow in the real-life. experiences.

The last picture contains the iPad (2020) v/s iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I'm just going to continue using my iPhone, will take good pictures, and admire the amazing battery life out of it.

Fun Fact! I did get the full 12 hours and 8 Minutes of usage out of it. (100% to 0% (until it was dead) Amazingly!!!

If your 12 is the one on the right then it’s just as yellow as all ours and all the others! :)
It doesn't look yellow to me though. iPhone 11 screen got whiter over-time. The device was used heavily for 14 months non-stop. Over time it will get better. The screen is definitely breaking it.

For example: How you buy new shoes and you have to break them in and get them to settle over days. The same thing applies to the iPhone screen's it tends to get better over-time. Patience is the key, my friend unless you get lucky.

No offense, but this is so funny 😂
