Here is a photo of my new Mini vs 12 Pro Max. No green tint or piss yellow screens. Perfect enough to my eyes and both look nearly identical.
But pretty noticeable uniformity issue with Max. Bottom of the screen noticeable is darker and possibly different tint (hard to say that from this photo). This is exactly the issue with 6.1" Pro's I've been dealing with and already purchased few without much luck.

Max is uniform in real life, it’s just the angle of photo. I’ve returned several due to defects.

OK. Because it looks in the photo exactly like the issue what I have been dealing here. Usually very easy to see using right type of tests and especially when turning the phone sideways/landscape position.

Even shop demo units seemed to have the same issue when I went to my local shop to check all their demo units they had on display but they all were with G9P's. We have one with G9N and it is pretty much perfect.

Mine is G9N as well.

How did you check the display on the fly?

I just ran sysdiagnose, possible to do on the fly. Then just unpacked it and read the device text file and searched for raw panel type for panel serial. Very easy to find once I rehearsed this at home with my own phone first.
Based on my tests G9N’s are rare in 6.1” Pro.

Also has anyone got 6.1” 12 Pro manufactured 2021? I have ordered few 12 Pro’s several weeks apart and I keep getting units manufactured the same week before Xmas. They are like over 2 months ago manufactured now. Each time I had to wait for new shipment to arrive to warehouse until they could sent it, so I’m puzzled how come they are still manufactured the same time. Shouldn’t there be already ones manufactured in January 2021? First ones we got before xmas were made just couple weeks earlier.

I have just noticed on my new iPhone 12 Pro Max when switching my phone on the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo reappears at normal brightness to finish the startup.
I bought my phone from Amazon and only have a couple of days left to return it for a brand new one. I am not sure if this is a common problem and its worth replacing the phone?

If that is the ONLY problem you see, forget about it and be happy!
If you have even tint and brightness and no tint in blacks, I would be happy.

That is a known issue which apparently has been reported fixed in the up coming 14.5 release. There is a thread about this issue.

The thing is I don't use True Tone, or auto brightness. I have them both turned off. Does this problem happen only when True Tone is on? What should I be looking for anyways? What is the tint problem, I am not that good with technology and used to use Samsung

You shouldn't be looking for anything. If you find a problem in your normal use, that's one thing. Actively searching for issues that aren't noticed in your daily usage doesn't make any sense to me.

With tint problem I'm referring to uneven tint, where in white full screen image you can see different parts of the image are different hue or there is something like red or green tint in some parts of it and or it has parts of the image dimmer. It surely looks more obvious with TT and NS on but even without them it is there even harder to notice since the screen is so bluish white and human eyes cannot see the difference in blue as well as it does with red or green. I guess that is the reason why many other vendors simply adjust their screens bluish so that it allows to use lower grade panels without too obvious flaws but when selling phones with D65 calibration this cannot be done with bad panels so well, as seen here.

Hi, Can I ask for a little more info on this. Just got a 12 Pro Max and I am not too happy with the screen, The minute I turned it on I could spot a yellow tint. True tone & Night shift are off. I am coming from an iPhone X.

I have ran sysdiagnose on it, airdropped and extracted the folder to my mac.
What is the file name that contains the the panel type serial number?

I am within my return window, Just interested to know this before I proceed.

Thanks

Somewhat warm tone is normal for D65, I guess some peoples call it yellow. Anyway my main problem is uneven tint and brightness between different parts of the screen. With uniform tint and brightness I'm fine.

Thanks I appreciate that, So mine has a G9N screen also.
I know the 12s have a warmer tone, I guess I'm struggling to get used to it.
Even on dark mode it looks very different, Much less dark more grey/green.

This photo was taken at 75% brightness.

This is the one thing that bugs me, dark mode greys look horrible, hoping once apple fix the green tint issue, grey colours will go back to how they use to look, not holding my breath though.

Exactly, Between this and the warm whites I think im best returning it while I can and revisiting it down the line to see if anything has improved.

D65 would be fine - in my case however the phone however is somewhere around the -D60 mark ... its an red - orangey - yellowish mess.

Her phone on right. XR on left
Have you actually measured it being D60 with suitable calibration gear? Photos are pretty much pointless if the white balance and display tech is different between the two and camera will always "see" it differently then.
