Those 2 iPhones are tagged in correctly. The one on the left is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is the screens as posted by Apple. The clue is where the earpiece is located. Not sure why that image tagged the phones wrong, but they are tagged incorrect. Also, the notch on the one on the right is smaller then the other phone.

They are not tagged incorrectly, the message on the screen is telling you which phone it's receiving data from and which phone it's sending data to. so the 12 will say sending to 13 pro max.... and the 13 will say receiving from 12 pro max... hence the confusion.

Okay, the explains a lot. I could not read what was written on the screen. I am confused by what the test is suppose to accomplish.

I hope True Tone is on this one. @LFC2020 and others... what do you guys think? Don't want to see another thread complaining about yellow screens. Ahhhh!

iPhone 12 Pro max screen looks so ugly. Looks like puke.

These are from a video on YouTube the 13 pro max on the left and the 12 pro max on the right, maybe with true tone but the 13 looks very yellowish…

Here’s a shot from a review where the 13 actually looks better. I would be careful with judging either way by screenshots and videos online.

Tru Tone or not, it’s odd that two screens can look so different even with Tru Tone on. According to Apple, they use “advanced sensors” to adjust the color of your display, but two phones can look totally different under the same light with Tru Tone on. It seems that Tru Tone just adjusts the warmth a little. It’s not a very sophisticated system. So if you have a yellow screen to start, you get an incredibly yellow/brown screen with Tru Tone turned on. If you have a cool blue screen to start, Tru Tone doesn’t make your screen very yellow at all. The end results are totally different.

The difference in screen color between my 12 and XS is dramatic, even with Tru Tone on. The 12 looks extremely yellow in comparison.

Zollotech Says that the iPhone 13 is cooler in comparison to his 12 pro max

I hope he’s right and that It’s cooler across the entire 13 line. That’s one of the big factors that caused me to not go for the 12-mini (Ie reports that the screen was yellow/warm etc… and more so than the other iPhone 12’s in the line-up). I’m just not a fan of “warm” displays.

Was that a joke? Or are you serious about it?
Anyone seen the yellow screen gone after updating to iOS 15?
Actually I'm being serious.

The color matches my desktop monitors far more closely now. Not as cool as ipad or IP7, but I'd estimate its close enough to really being D65 now.

Oh cool so we agree! Displays vary you are exactly right. And if a display doesn't match a persons expectations, or strays too far from the reference display phones, its defective, take it back.

So, let me get this straight. People have to perform *your test* to see if the display matches *their* expectations?

How about people just use their phones unless they see something that is a problem for them? Rather than go looking for something that bothers you?

There is also the difference on a 13 Pro in color at 9:37. But you can actually see how smooth is the new 120Hz at 60FPS video.

No matter what the new displays look like, there will invariably still be a small group of people that will carry on the 'tradition' of returning numerous iPhones in search of the elusive unicorn that looks perfect to them. There will also be the thread to go along with it with the same posters making numerous posts reassuring each other that "these displays are no good". To all of those future posters with 'bad' displays, good luck.

A question in low light my 12 pro with or without true tone is very yellow is that normal in lowlight or the piss yellow?

Who will be the first in the wild to post a photo of their shiny new 13/Mini/Max/Pro?

Looking at you fellas down under.

My 13pro doesn't seem more yellow or cooler next to my 12pro, however it is clearer/sharper with deeper blacks.
Also seems wider, not sure if that's an optical illusion from the smaller notch.
But overall, the panel quality seems much better.

Edit: Maybe slightly more neutral colour on the 13pro, the difference in sharpness is noticeable.
Don't think I can go without Pro-motion now... lol first world problems.
