First batch maybe, but the replacements would be from the same batch. Pro Silver, 256 here.

I think I'll have to learn to like Dark mode.

Switching back and forth helped, but there's a shift between yellow, blue, pink, by how I tilt the screen. Pink in between, yellow straight on, and blue if there's any tilt.

What are those grey stripes in the second pic?
The stripes must be lighting or from the camera, reckon 99% of these panels are the same, we’ll have to get really lucky to get a decent one, not really into playing the screen lottery or ending up with something worse.

OK. But what strikes me is that I can't get a uniform white background when centering my head over the screen!? My phone seems to perform quite good at the unformity tests out there on YouTube, but reading text on white feels strange / wrong...
Same story as last year, apple calibrate their displays to a warmer tone, they’ve done the same thing again this year but toned it down a tad, what you’re seeing with not getting a uniform background is also normal oled behavior.

Unless your screen is really annoying you, I’d keep it, instead of risking getting something even worse.

Thanks for Your advices! Maybe my expectations were to high. I expected a perfect uniform white on a 2021 iPhone Pro. Unfortunately my old iPhone 5s seemed to be better regarding this issue. Bummer. 😢

The iPhone X had the best oled panel, it all went downhill from there

Look at them perfect oled whites 🥰😔

Definetely a panel lottery as always. Was stupid enough to buy my Pro Max from a retailer with a restocking fee. Got a panel with a massive off-axis blue shift, uneven brightness when viewing dark grays and even pink spots. It was also darker on the right side. As I'm still not sure about Pro vs. Pro Max I paid the restocking fee and ordered a regular Pro elsewhere. This panel is perfectly uniform even in a dark room, with no apparent off-axis shift in any color. It's a tad warm, but that's expected coming from an X. Only gripe I have with the new display is that it doesn't "pop" as much as my old X. Wouldn't call it murky though. Now my carrierer emailed me and have a Pro Max on stock. As they have a 60 day return period I guess I'll try ordering one and compare to the Pro I got. If the screen is good I'll have a decision to make in regards to size. If the panel has issues I'll keep the Pro and be done with it. Rabbit hole 😅

Looks a bit like mine. Not uniform either.

Unbelievable. Why are there 65" OLED TVs showing nice whites / good gray uniformity - and 6,1" phones looking wrong? Smaller screens should be easier to be made consistent...

Agree, my oled tv looks awesome, don’t forget we aren’t moving our oled tv, so we don’t see off axis color shift like we do with our phones.

Can‘t wait till apple ditch oled for micro led, I’d even take mini led over oled.

For those of you with Apple Care, do an express replacement. They keep stock for this and at this stage, they’ll be brand new units. If you don’t have/want Apple Care, sign up, do an express replacement then cancel the policy. It’s not acceptable for Apple to be pushing out screens like this, again. Granted it’s better than last year which may suggest after demand settles then the screens will be coming out perfect.

Would already be satisfied if only there wasn't the top / bottom brightness shift without moving the phone / head.

I’ve got apple care + problem is, there is no stock at all at the moment, they offered me a different color, I turned it down, don’t know what I’m going to do, one minute I look at my screen and say take the replacement, next minute I say keep it. 🤷‍♂️

You're right, but I'm not willing to join the lottery.

Waiting a few months is no option either. Did this with past iPhones - similar results.

Might not be any better with the replacement, you might go through 1 or 10 phones before you get a acceptable panel.

I know. That su**s.
🤨😐 I’ve got a replacement phone arriving in 4-5 weeks, not sure if I’m canceling it yet, don’t want to end up with a even worse panel, on the other hand this panel is really 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 me off 🤦‍♂️😂

using my M1 iPad Pro, so I don’t have to look at that putrid screen.

It's frustrating. Paying much money for a phone hoping not to be lost in state of the art OLED panels.

They should be new without packaging (white box).

That said, it might be better to wait as long as possible and hope for a corrected batch or a group out of a different factory.

Problem is Samsung can’t produce enough A grade panels for everyone, especially apple who sell a crap load of phones or Tim Cook is cheaping out on C grade oled panels.
