This way lies madness. The screens on these OLED phones (and LCDs for that matter) will all have variances and imperfections. Even mine, which is otherwise pretty good, if I stare at a white screen long enough there's an ALMOST imperceptible bit more of yellowing on one side. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that I could look at any iPhone screen and find something wrong with it.
Hey everyone. Wife and I got a couple of 13 Pro max’s and when compared to my XS Max, the 13s screen looks more “yellow”. Not this could be because my XS max is too blue. But wanted to share and see what you guys think.

Let me know if you see any uniformity problem with the 13s or if it does look too yellow. Thanks!

What I think I see here, and also on mine, if what seems to be a slight tint (yellowish or reddish in these two) along the left side. It's very minor.

Looks good to me, I’m not comparing my next phone when I get it, I’ll end up returning it again 🤦‍♂️ Not asking no one for their opinion either lol.

If you’re happy with it, that’s the main thing.

can you post a photo of the dial pad in the phone app.want to see if greys are faded like mine

View attachment 1854477Boy, not much difference between those, and I'm pretty OCD.

Hard to comment too much on the screen because he could have the brightness cranked and who knows about TT and Nightshift. Looks like it's slightly yellow to the degree others are.
Well photo/video is useless anyway without a reference white point to go from. I was more linking because of his “most accurate ever” comment

My screen seems to be settling. Anyone else noticing an improvement with use?

Maybe that's not technically possible but I've had TV's do that, out of the box I could never get the settings right, then 2 weeks later it was perfect.

The tilt shifting is worse than the tint for me right now. It's a bit like looking at a hologram.

Here is the difference between 2 pro models. Right side is noticeably more yellow with red tinge on the bottom half. I am returning this one and keeping left side. Left side has red tinge too but not as bad and seems more uniform overall. There will never be a perfect screen unfortunately. My ocd wishes.

I hope this is a thing!

Mine is the opposite, my dark mode greys are perfect, no yellow or red tint whatsoever, when not in dark mode is the problem, murky, red tint, yellow display, with terrible off axis colours. 🤦‍♂️

Apple support & their senior advisor offered to send out a replacement without me even having to say anything, was comparing mine at the apple store, even the worker said dude you should replace your device, the store demo on the same settings with True Tone, night shift and auto brightness turned off, looked amazing, crisp white. 🤦‍♂️

Only problem is I don't want to end up with a phone like your one on the right, since my dark mode colours are on point.

I'll be getting back in touch with apple tomorrow, I'll be asking them If the replacement model display is worse than my current phone, can I send it back, instead of having to send my current phone back.

Always a chance you can end up with a worse display, one thing I'm not willing to gamble on.

My screen seems to be getting worse with use, seeing more yellow. 🤦‍♂️ can oled panels change temp when in use? maybe a thermal issue making the display warmer, my True Tone doesn't activate sometimes as well. 🤷‍♂️

I turned True Tone off. Brightness is all the way up. I do have to use a color filter (top slider a small amount, bottom slider 60%'ish of the way). Increase Contrast seems to help, but I'm just discovering that now as I'm typing this.

When I undo these, it's very yellow green but I haven't found a test to feel like I could convince an Apple store employee.

Why didn't you do the trade at the Apple store under warranty and have them compare there?

That’s why I am done and just keeping the left side unit. My ocd cannot keep playing the panel lottery. I feel like it is a rabbit hole and could end up being a never ending cycle. And like you said what if the replacements are worse?

I would turn your True Tone off and see if that helps!

No stock & restrictions at the moment, they aren't taking returns in store. 😷 4-5 weeks wait on stock 😳

Don't like messing with the colour filters, you end up compromising something else in the end.

So play the panel lottery once, if they agree to let me keep my current phone, if the new one is even worse?

Or don't bother.

Honestly with oled it’s inferior to mini led . Since iPhone went oled I’ve never had a uniform screen in all aspects, it’s annoying considering how expensive these phones are.

100% this, only decent oled panel I've had was the iPhone X, even my LCD MacBook Pro screen looks better than my 13 pro max piss yellow, red tint display, my M1 iPad puts my iPhone display to shame.

I would see if you can get a better one. And send it back if it’s not better. From the ones I’ve had though it looks like they all have it to some degree. It’s just some are worse than others.

I'll see what apple support says tomorrow, sounds like its trying to find a needle in a haystack, not going through 10 phones just to find a decent display. 🤦‍♂️

We calibrate our macbooks so I don't have an issue with it, but maybe I'm not thinking it through. I get not wanting to disguise a bad panel.

For anyone trying to live with their phone, I'd still suggest trying the settings, it will absolutely help.

True Tone off.
Accessibility... display/text size....increase contrast on.... color filter on.... 15% and 60% but use your eye...
Brightness 90% or higher....
Night Shift off

None of this will help the tilt tint issue.
