My screen is starting to piss me off again 🤦‍♂️

Sometimes it looks cooler, then it gets a lot warmer with a slight red tint.

Might make a appointment with apple once restrictions ease, then get them to line up 5 refurbs in front of me and let me pick one. 🤦‍♂️

I decided I’m going to play the screen lottery, I think. The bottom of mine is noticeably warmer than the top. Everything else about this phone is so incredible that I can see myself keeping it for a good few years if I can just get a passable screen.

Think it’s a thermal issue, my screen will look a nice cool white one second, then piss yellow the next, the slight red tint is there like on most of the other phones that I’ve seen on here.

As I’m typing this message in dark mode, the text is a clear while color, just before it was yellow. 🤦‍♂️

No issues in dark mode with grey colors, screen is very uniform, no hardware issues, build quality is great.

I’ll wait till apple stores over here are allowing walk ins and appointments again.

If it keeps getting on my nerves until then, it’ll definitely be getting replaced.

Deep down I reckon all these screens are either B grade panels or apple has calibrated them to this piss yellow color.

We could be wasting our time getting a replacement. 🤔🤷‍♂️

I would like to say the is definitely OCD bro
I know cause I have it too
I suggest that you see a therapist to help you on it that is how you get over the display problems

He's completely right to complain about screen issue on a $1000 phone, especially if it's yellow which is ugly and annoying.

Apple production quality control has gone to **** in the past couple of years and they try to sell a lot of defective models.

Some people like to be c**ks and keep them that way, other people ask Apple what is in their right.

It is kind of sad looking a several posts of people having issues with their screens. Apple markets high-quality products and services for a high and hefty price tag. We are paying for premium devices so, everyone is on their right to demand the expected quality that they are paying for. Accepting lower-quality devices or devices with quality issues will send a message to Apple that it is ok to lower their standards.

In my case, my screen it's not perfect. Whites are slightly warmer than all my other devices. For devices, I mean, iPad pro, Macbook Pro, 3 iPhone XR, 1 iPhone XS, 1 iPhone X (traded for the 13 pro max), LG Oled TV 2021, my LG desktop monitor, professionally calibrated for photo editing, etc. So far, the screen is uniform, and greys and black is ok, so I decided to keep it, but it shouldn't be different from other displays that I have.

It's a bug. Turn screen off then back on a few times , sometimes it's yellower sometimes not so much. More evident with TT on. The glitch that is.

I agree with you about the fact that it is 1000$ phone should be flawless but it is oled and you know you are buying oled it has been always a lottery
However he was saying he got new phone and great display and now he does not like it this is typical OCD it is mild though but still
He will try to get a new device with may be a better display (hopefull) and will be calm for a bit then OCD will come again I am just trying to speak in his own good I don't mind him trying them all.

I was just contemplating that of all the Samsung phones I have owned in tandem with my iPhones, I’ve never had a bad screen or color imbalance (Note 8, Note 10, Note 20 Ultra, and Flip 3) while I have had a few bad Apple screens over the years. Don’t know if it’s a factory calibration issue, bad panel batches, insufficient inspection or what but it seems like something Apple needs to address as there seem to be many unhappy customers in this thread. My XR and 12 Pro Max both arrived with perfect screens, my issues were way back with 6 Plus and 6s Plus, one yellow and uneven, the other pink if I recall correctly. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a clear, even screen with dark blacks on flagship phones with these price tags. The screen is everything on these devices. Crossing my fingers my back-ordered Apple.com 13 PM has a great screen like my 12 PM. I will compare to 12PM and return if it’s inferior as this is an iffy upgrade in terms of new features and I was mainly upgrading for faster screen and Sierra Blue anyway.

FWIW I went into Best Buy to handle a 13 Pro yesterday in person (considering downsizing screen size and wanted to handle the phone and also see Sierra Blue in person) and I noticed the blacks seemed faded/washed out compared to my 12PM, even mentioned it to the salesperson. I hadn’t read or noticed this thread when I made this observation.

You must be an exception to the rule. One of my Note 20 Ultras had green tint issue. Note 4 had pink tint on one corner area. iPhone 12 PM had slight green tint amongst other things discussed here. Last iPhone I had with a good screen was an XS Max.

Has anyone experienced any improvement or worsening after installing the 15.0.2 update? I don’t know if my mind is playing tricks but I see the whites warmer than before.

15.0.2 does nothing, if anything my screen looked even more yellow, I'm also seeing my display shift from a warmer to a cooler tone, like @Limeybastid said above it could be a bug.

I honestly believe even apple knows that oled has to many flaws, that's why they've gone with mini led for their iPad Pro and upcoming MacBook Pros, comparing my iPhone 13 pro max next to my mini led iPad Pro, you can instantly see how much warmer piss yellow the iPhone is, the text on my iPad looks a beautiful crisp white colour, compared to the piss yellow colour on my oled iPhone, even greys look way better on my mini led iPad.

I've also seen severe red tint on samsung phones, a mate of mine had a s9 with red tint from top to bottom.

yep, every iPhone 13 model has a slight red tint this year. 🤦‍♂️ no point playing the screen lottery.

No they are not, in my experience only 1 out of almost 10.

But the majority of the phones have some display issue, I would say 75-80%.

Mine is not yellow (changed it) but it's not as bright as other screens, I would say it's bluish at worst.

Yellow is much more common.

I don't care, for that price they can make sure the screens are all good.

Many displays look bad, is not OCD.

I don't think the problem has anything to do with software, it's the panel that is defective.
