So I went to my local apple store to investigate a little and what I found there was good!
There was little to no difference in the display unit on the right, and my pro 12 on the left. Taken with my iPhone 8.
!!!!Very good!!!!!
This means, that most likley, the screens are simply shifted more towards yellow this year than what it has previously been. They are more yellow, but they are supposed to be like that. For some reason...
I have to say, its quite a large shift towards yellow.
My 5s, iPhone 8 and 12.9 are all substantially bluer, and they feel more in tune with my calibrated monitor (that I use for photo editing).
With that said, I will check a couple of different Apple stores in my city next week and see if any differences has appeared.
This is science, folks. If you have a suspicion towards something you have to find the evidence, one cannot just asume.
There is no personal loss in admitting that you are wrong, in fact that is what science is all about - trying to eliminate as much many hypotheses as possible.
Lets see what next week finds. Hopefully all the screens I come across are just as yellow as my 12 pro.
If so, that will mean that we were right about feeling something was... "off" with out screen tint, but that we were wrong about there being a conspiracy where in Apple was deliberatly shipping "bad" units in order to please as many as customers as possible on release day.
