Mine is awful compared to my XS Max - I have avoided the issue since the iPhone 7 when I had to go back and get a replacement.
Apple have inspected mine and said they will replace - noticeable difference to the display units, although no stock so have to go back.
I've also noticed that the yellow is worse on one side of the screen.

This has really annoyed me that Apple try and get away with it.

Images below are with TT off and then on

looks like you have night shift on.

Wait - is that the iPhone 12 on the right??

So I went to my local apple store to investigate a little and what I found there was good!

There was little to no difference in the display unit on the right, and my pro 12 on the left. Taken with my iPhone 8.

!!!!Very good!!!!!

This means, that most likley, the screens are simply shifted more towards yellow this year than what it has previously been. They are more yellow, but they are supposed to be like that. For some reason...

I have to say, its quite a large shift towards yellow.

My 5s, iPhone 8 and 12.9 are all substantially bluer, and they feel more in tune with my calibrated monitor (that I use for photo editing).

With that said, I will check a couple of different Apple stores in my city next week and see if any differences has appeared.

This is science, folks. If you have a suspicion towards something you have to find the evidence, one cannot just asume.

There is no personal loss in admitting that you are wrong, in fact that is what science is all about - trying to eliminate as much many hypotheses as possible.

Lets see what next week finds. Hopefully all the screens I come across are just as yellow as my 12 pro.

If so, that will mean that we were right about feeling something was... "off" with out screen tint, but that we were wrong about there being a conspiracy where in Apple was deliberatly shipping "bad" units in order to please as many as customers as possible on release day.

Glad you are taking a scientific approach, but I dont agree with your statement that "the screens are simply shifted more towards yellow this year".

They aren't. And you dont have the issue we are talking about. Yours is only slightly different than baseline. That's OK and can be attributed to normal panel variance.

A large batch of phones will ship with ranges so far out of tolerance its ridiculous. Thats what we are talking about here. Like the phone posted a few posts up. Clearly defective.

Fair points and I have to agree that the variability on the panels seems to be higher than acceptable.

I hope more people will post their screens om this thread.

Wow. That is actually horrible. Wish I could see my 12 pro next to yours.
Yes it is! Apple will hopefully have a replacement for me this weekend. There doesn't seem to be that many bad ones this year so fingers crossed the replacement is ok!

UPS guy is dropping off packages now, fingers extra crossed hahah

I finally opened my blue silicone case I got two days ago, and its the perfect shade of blue I was hoping for AND the bonus of drilled out speaker holes. I will take both as a good omen

I just got my new iPhone 12 and it does look yellow/warm

however, turning TrueTone off makes it look normal again (compared to my iPhone 6)

Should I just turn that setting off or get used to it?

If it looks good after TT is off, you are likely good to go. Compare to an apple display phone to be sure, both with TT off.

I think most people, who complain on yellow tint are having true tone on. I just turned this option on my XR and it became really yellow..

I think I had this issue with my XSMax at launch. TT was turned off, still yellow. Returned it and got a much better unit.

As some that have posted photos this year, they are showing that TT is turned OFF. So at least for those owners, it's an issue with TT OFF.
