Office 365 and Creative Cloud.

I use them every day, and couldn't do my work otherwise.

I know there are alternatives and if I were working alone on projects that I created and are just for me until the final product, I'd be looking at alternatives.

But I have to send around files and I can't possibly take the chance that something I create and send to a client just won't work, or behaves badly, or doesn't display properly.

We have one subscription for Anylist which we use for shared grocery shopping lists. They have to pay for the server for the sharing of entries and they also pay Bing for photo searches so it's worth a once per annum payment.

We also pay Apple monthly for the lowest paid iCloud storage option.

nb: With iCloud you can share a database between your own apps but not to another person's devices.

(non Apple we pay for Netflix and other family members have NowTV & Prime so we get all three)

iCloud 2TB-$9.99
Apple Music- $9.99

Backblaze-$6.00
Motortrend on Demand-$4.99
Fanfastical-$.99

This month was a little higher though because I had some yearly subscriptions (pocket casts, radarscope, and Carrot weather) renew.

  • Apple Music - $5
  • iCloud Storage - $3
  • VPN - $5.50
  • Netflix - $14
Also have Amazon Prime but my family is paying for it and Microsoft 365 included for free from my college. I try to only have Netflix for parts of the year when I want to catch up on shows, and then stop my subscription for the rest of the year. It just feels expensive considering that it has almost doubled in price from 6-7 years ago when I first had it. It is a lot cheaper than cable, but still.

Aw shoot! How could I forget AnyList? I love that app, especially as it syncs to my Watch. (I don't usually carry my phone.) It's perfect for the daily shopping as well as organizing special meals.

i have others but are included with something else. HBOMax with my AT&T service.

Only services really, not apps.

Apple Music - annual plan paid for with at least 10% bonus/discounts on gift cards.
Considering going up to first paid iCloud level as I’m nearly at 5gb with photos now.
EurosportPlayer annual subscription

Office 365. It's a no brainer. and the 365 Home is a tremendous value for a household. Plus, there's the trick of stacking Personal versions, and then upgrading to the Home version ;)

For software, that's it. The rest are services (Spotify, Netflix).

I worry with apple silicon on the horizon that some of the apps I have perpetual licenses for will take the opportunity to go subscription. I currently run Sierra because file make pro went subscription so the version I own will not run on anything higher than Sierra. Some apps I do not use enough to justify a monthly charge. I used Excel a lot a work and had access to it from work. Now that I am retired I never use it. Will probably default to numbers if I ever need a spreadsheet in the future.

As of yesterday I finally gave in and subscribed to Adobe CC. There’s simply nothing as good as Lightroom.

I 100% hate subscriptions for software updates. It's paying for them to fix their defects they should not have made in the first place - anything but software it would be warranty and recalls.

- Adobe CC (likely to quit and move to Affinity once I can get rid of a project that requires Lightroom (and pushes it to its limits)
- MSFT Office but I use it every day a bit less, hoping to be at a point to cancel it soon.

For those looking for alternatives: There's an excellent cross platform password manager called KeePass. The best mac version is KeePassXC - fully free.

The rest I pay for a few recurring services, but software is a product, never a service IMHO.

Soon after Apple held a conference with developers and put that little gem into their heads, more and more software has become a subscription model to keep the money rolling in on an annual basis.
Netflix and expanded iCloud Storage, I guess my cell phone bill could be considered a subscription.

- iCloud 200GB
- Music
- Infuse Pro (best video player IMO, also awesome on Apple TV)
- 1Password (my precious passwords require the very best security, and this is an ever ongoing war which require a lot of man-hours. I lol at people that want a free password manager)
- Paste (best clipboard manager IMO, really increases my productivity both for work and personal stuff)

Castro (podcasting app)
SchedJones (calendar app)
Carrot Weather

All 3 apps give me extra features through subscription that I value enough to pay a yearly fee for.

Streaming services (Apple Music, TV+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, STARZ)
iCloud 2 Tb
Office 365 for Enterprise
Dropbox 1 Tb
Prezi.com Pro
Go-To-Meeting Premium
Adobe Acrobat

Thanx Affinity for your delightful and powerful suite. Thank u Apple por FCP and Motion.

  1. Apple Music(Monthly)
  2. Bear(Monthly)
  3. iCloud Storage(50GB)
  4. G-Suite(2-colleague startup)
  5. Apple Arcade(Monthly-love some games in there)
  6. 1Password(nr 1 to go)
  7. YouTube Premium
To my mind, bear is a cheap subscription I could consider. 1Password is my only solution. G-Suite is needed for my startup

Edit: I have Office 365 from school so I never think of their subscriptions

- Evernote. But only because OneNote can't save text selections or pictures as a selection like Evernote can. And that's it. I try to go the free software route as much as possible, mostly using iCloud or sometimes OneDrive as cloud storage if necessary.
- Amazon Prime.

As of yesterday I finally gave in and subscribed to Adobe CC. There’s simply nothing as good as Lightroom.

Many pro folks use Capture One Pro instead of Lightroom. It can be purchased or subscribed.
Likewise, Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop.

I dropped Adobe for these applications as I do not need the full capability of their programs.

Netflix, Hulu, Adobe CC, Spotify (well, my wife, not me).

At some point I’ll probably add a VPN and a cloud storage service.
