What essential feature is that, may I ask?

The ability for displays to have separate spaces (which comes with additional functionality such as full screen mode, etc.). This is a key feature of OS X since Mavericks.

Ah right, yeah the spaces feature is what is disabled, but I wondered what its uses were. Full screen mode makes sense.

Mavericks is truly a piece of c*ap, the UI jitters are unbearble, sure the eye candy and new features are nice but certainly not worth the UI sacrifice. This is really poor implementation from Apple and there is no excuse for dragging it for so long.
For me, Mavericks was revolutionary because it was the first OS that actually speeded my existing hardware.

So first you say OS X Mavericks is a piece of crap and then you go on praising its positive effects on your hardware. Alright. :p

LOL, not sure what I was smoking. I meant Yosemite in the first sentence.

10.10.3 is released! Time to revive this thread ;) Has there been any changes?

Haven't read threw the entire thread but a week ago I chose to reduce transparency in Accessibility Systems Preferences, and today updated to 10.10.3, and I have no animation stutters using Launch Pad, Mission Control, entering/exiting full screen apps, etc.

rMBP Mid-2014 15" Intel Iris Pro only model.

Is that with reduce transparency turned on or off under 10.10.3?
Oh damn.

No, Apple just doesn't care and while this is true I say screw their recent OS; Mavericks is better.

3 iterations of an OS and you still haven't fixed driver issues on your second-most recent rMBPs? What a joke Apple. Even Microsoft and Intel got it right the first time. Windows 8.1 has absolutely no lag...but alas, it's still Windows.

Mostly no lags here on my Late 2013 rMBP. I keep the transparency on but I disabled most animations and fade-in effects with TinkerTool.

10.10.3 is snappy.

Oh, and one more thing: if you want a lag-free Finder, do yourself a favor and set the scroll bars to be always visible.

You're missing one step... disable icon previews...

But for older hardware, Finder scrolling on Yosemite and even Mavericks are just ****...

Do you mind telling us what you've changed in order to reduce the lag?
I almost always use the external 4K the whole time, and without the transparency set to default there is lag expanding windows to full screen, etc.

Oh wow... not quite sure if I should bother upgrading if I end up just disabling everything...

I am using Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2014 2.2 ghz base model. I am using my computer usually connected to Thunderbolt cinema display. After the update of 10.10.3, magic mouse and magic touch pad started to work laggy. Is there anybody experienced this? What must I do?

I think there is some Bluetooth issue. I tried both Wi-fi on and off. This update is really strange.

Welcome to the club. Prepare to get back to Mavericks if you want to use your Magic Mouse/Trackpad again.
