Call me stupid but does this mean that it could be upto 15 minutes before someone receives your message?
i.e - they only receive it after the 15 min failsafe threshold is exceeded?

This is probably the best feature to come out of IOS 16. I tend to type so fast that when I send messages the auto correct feature usually doesn't catch all my errors or changes it to a completely different word. for me 15 minute time limit is more then enough.

MS Teams allows you to do both however FB/WhatsApp is still lagging behind, as you can only delete a sent message albeit flaky sometimes, but can’t edit so 👍 🍎

To be fair, Steve… had a tendency to monopolize keynotes. To the point where he became the public face of every team of the company. Tim Cook seems to prefer letting the lead developers/project managers/VPs for each team present (and get credit for) their contributions. The latter goes a long way towards dissociating Apple from being that one guy

That’s more because Tim isn’t anywhere near as good of a talker, or as charismatic, or as deeply passionate about the products as Steve was.

Strange that they introduced in mail the ability to schedule when an email is sent but not for messages, or at least I haven't seen it anywhere. It's not something I'd use, but loadsa folk on here have been asking for it for ages, especially as almost all segments started by saying "a lot of customers have been asking us for / our most popular feature request".

We all wanted to see Steve (and only Steve) present. No one wants to see any other these other people present. Tim Cook doesn't have a fraction of Jobs charisma.

But no one person can carry the whole company. Look at what happened to Apple when Steve died, all the “is Apple doomed?!” news articles and the such.

And Steve’s tendency to monopolize credit and attention isn’t necessarily a good thing. While he was a great presenter, it also seems like his dominance of the keynotes was a facet of his more unsavory personal characteristics (narcissistic tendencies and the like).

(Also, for the first iPad, he also had some of the VPs on stage. It was more a thing as he got nearer to the end of his life.)

I honestly wish I could turn off the edit on my side so someone else is not affecting messaging on my phone
Here's hoping that not using iCloud Messages means the idiot on the other side can't mess with what's displayed on my phone.

Wait, what?! This is about fixing typos and that stuff (and auto-correct corruptions, I call ‘em auto-corrupt), and those “oh whoa, I shouldn’t have sent that” or “whoops, wrong chat thread!” situations. I really don’t get what you mean by “I hope this guy can’t mess with what’s on my phone” business.
