Flickr has an API that can be used, one just needs an API key to use them. I applied for one, since it seems like something useful (I also have a flickr account).

I'll try to squeeze this in between everything I have going on, it may not happen right away, but know that it's being looked into.

is there a way i can make my weather to look like this
weather.jpg

Decided don't really need RSS feeds, would clog it up a bit.

Got these on rotation at the mo:

I like it. Minimalist. Now to find some new icons... This is exciting. Woo.

Anyone know what script for the weather, or how he got the backdrop?

yahoo weather has crapped out for me. It got stuck on cloudy so i deleted and tried reinstalling the script and now can't get my weather back. I can't even begin to understand The Ultimate Weather Script posted. I'm as slow as slow gets and it's like trying to read Japanese. Anyone wanna attempt to help me out.....

Starters I created a folder in documents called Geektool and placed the ultimateweather folder there and attempted to just paste one of the example codes but no luck....

PM me your script commands that you have in your geeklet, I'll help out.

I think the issue is that you placed the folder ultimateweather in ~/Documents/Geektool.

I found an error in the README and you will need to change the path to the script to be:
Code:
python ~/Documents/Geektool/ultimateweather/ultimate_weather_parser.py <your options here>

Yahoo weather is working for me with the exception of the image. I looked at the ultimate weather script, but the images for the other services are terrible and super tiny on my iMac's screen. Any other options for weather images?

Trying to use wunderground:
python ~/Documents/Geektool/ultimateweather/ultimate_weather_parser.py <-A -L ipinfodb -Q full -T wunderground -g current -s detailed>

right now I'm using a weather icon found on here and sorry I'm not properly crediting but I enjoyed the look of yahoo's icons a little more

You need to remove the < and >, that's my way of denoting a placeholder for information.

python ~/Documents/Geektool/ultimateweather/ultimate_weather_parser.py -A -L ipinfodb -Q full -T wunderground -g current -s detailed

is correct? if so I'm still getting a blank shell. also thank you for taking your time with me :D

Those command options work for me. Would you mind taking a screenshot showing the install directory of the script (Finder window) and your geeklet setup?

I think the issue with the yahoo weather images not woking properly is also tied to the 10.7.4 update..

I just updated my macbook pro to 10.7.4 and the yahoo images is now not working, all day today while on 10.7.3 yahoo weather images was working fine..

The rest of the yahoo weather info is displaying correctly, just the weather image is no longer showing...

From the look of the first screenshot, the ultimateweather folder isn't inside the Geektool folder in ~/Documents.

Sorry I copied it so it's actully in ~/Documents and ~/Documents/Geektool

I think you're right. I updated yesterday and lost the weather icon I had working earlier in the day also. Now none of the scripts I can find for weather icons are working

I just updated to 10.7.4 and my WeatherIcon scripts/geeklets are running just fine. I use Yahoo Weather to source all the info that I display.
