2017- 7+
2018- 8+
2020- 12pm, 12p
2021- 13 mini, 13p, SE2
2022- SE3
Daily driver is the 13p but I still use the 8+, SE3, and 13 mini sometimes.

Also, it wasn't my phone but back in 2014 when I worked as a refurbisher I built my mom a 4s from spare parts. Her first smartphone, got her hooked on iOS lol.

2010: iPod touch 4th gen
2012: iPod touch 5th gen
2013: iPhone 5S
2014: iPhone 6 (for about a week, wasn't impressed, and was too deep in Android at the time)
[years of being on Android]
2019: iPhone X
2020 - Present: iPhone XS

mid 2013 - iPhone 5 (actually my first smartphone)
early 2017 - iPhone 7 (jet black edition)
late 2019 - iPhone 11 pro

Ultimately, positive experience with iPhone / iOS convinced me to eventually jump on the Mac wagon and embrace Apple ecosystem.

iPhone 4s (early 2013, my first iPhone)
iPhone 6 (early 2015)
iPhone XR (mid 2019)

I use my iPhones until they break / battery dies / support ends. My XR still has a decent battery life, suitable for my nees. I guess there will be 1-2 more years of support at least. Considering the last model they dropped was iPhone 7.

iPhone Journey

iPhone 3G- 2008
iPhone 4- 2010
iPhone 5- 2012
iPhone 6- 2014
iPhone 7 Plus- 2016
iPhone XS- 2018
iPhone 11 Pro Max- 2019
iPhone 14 Pro Max- 2022

It all started with the iPhone 1 ...

1
3G
4
4S
5
6
6S
X
Xr
12 Pro

There would be some Sony and Samsung Android phones sprinkled in there as well in parallel.

- iPhone 5 -- first iPhone, got it the year it came out and I was still in high school, people were amazed at how "big" the phone was, the extra half inch seemed crazy!

- iPhone 6 Plus

- iPhone 7 Plus

- iPhone 12 mini

- iPhone 13 mini

I enjoyed large phones for a while, but once I got an iPad and MacBook I found I was using my iPhone for nothing more than as a phone and quick searches/maps, etc. Now I'd only go for a small phone, and I'd love a phone the size of the iPhone 4 or smaller with a full screen, even if it doesn't have FaceID or anything other than basic iPhone features lol

oRiGiNaL gAnGsTa 2G
3GS

6
7 Plus
11
13 Pro

Don't really remember how long I kept each of them, although obviously had the 7 Plus the longest (just over 3 years). Only upgraded to the 13 Pro in June.

Least favorite was the 11. The camera updates were nice, but the form factor was uncomfortable (I hated that rolled edge on 6 through the 11) and it just didn't feel like a particularly inspired effort by Apple, which is the trend as of late it seems.

13 Pro is nice. I like the slab edge, and having a telephoto camera again. Doubt I'll upgrade before the 16 or 17.

iPhone 3GS black - 4S silver (2 times because I dropped the first one) - 5S silver, then gold (2 times because home button stopped working on first one), 6S silver 64GB - XS space gray 64GB

i don’t remember storage on the other phones though

iPhone 1:
Still have it still powers up.(last time I checked) my Series 0 AW won’t even power up. Waited in front of a AT&T Store with maybe 40 other people. Someone took it upon themselves to write and hand out numbers. It was a happening. Activating via iTunes was interesting. The longer you waited the longer it was going to take.
People would crowd around just to look at it and see the then magic.

July or August of 2007 Apple dropped the price $100 for Xmas sales. Everyone who bought it in June freaked out. We took to the Apple support web page complaining and crashed the site. Steve Jobs announced that everyone that bought it in June would get a $100 Apple gift card. I bought a keyboard for my Mac. I think it was wireless.

iPhone 3GS:
Returned and got a new one for a bad speaker. I skipped the iPhone 4 because I didn’t like the design. I loved the curved design of the 3 series. During the 4 cycle I went Blackberry and then Android HTC Evo 3D the worse phone ever. During this time I got a iPad 2 which brought me back to iOS and the 4S.

iPhone 4S No issues

iPhone 5S No issues

iPhone 6Plus No issues never bent. Kept it for 3 years even after getting the 7 Plus. Eventually sent in for recycling. Sad thing was the day I got it delivered my mom passed away. 11/11/14. L

iPhone 7 Plus No issues

iPhones XS Max No issues. Had a hard time getting it. I preordered and received tracking but never received the phone. Sprint gave me the runaround. I pulled a Karen and asked for the manager who gave me the runaround. I ended up emailing the SVP of Sprint Customer service and CC’d every company executive. 20 minutes after sending the email I got a call from customer service and they overnighted a XS Max to me.

iPhone 11 Pro Max No issues. Loved the Midnight Green

iPhone 12 Pro Max No issues Loved the Pacific Blue

iPhone 14 Pro Max No issues. Got Space Black but kind of sorta wished I got Purple. It’s all good though I’m more than satisfied with it. Enjoying it immensely iOS 16 bugs and all. Every iOS has had bugs and every iOS going forward will have bugs. It’s part of game. I like the Dynamic Island. It’s a enjoyable feature to me. I’m not tripping about it.

Through all of these phones I never cracked a screen or a glass back.
The aluminum back of the iPhone is pretty scuffed up though.

This is fun:

2019 - iPhone 11
2022 - iPhone 14 Pro

Unsure if I'm going to keep the 14 Pro at this point. It's nice, but I love my 11 so idk
