IMHO, a stylish case should be like an elegant frame, stage if you will for the star of the show, the iPad. I certainly wouldn't want a case that would try and upstage the beautiful device.

I dont know if they sell small stages for your ipad, but you never know.

Google it

Thank you,

Looks like he spent more time on the logo design than the case design. I wouldn't buy that thing. It looks like a Southpole shirt.

You put down 2 companies in one sentance.
Now thats efficient.

Thank you,
Tim Angel

Tim, I know it isn't easy getting a decent product out of the far east, and have the upmost respect for you. The amount of times we have had container loads of parts that don't work as they should, are the wrong size is amazing. Being there for the whole design and production is the best place to be and wish you the best of luck.

I found this guy's videos earlier on today while I was looking for more information on the Quirky case. He had posted replies to some blog posts using his own name Tim Angel as the username saying how he intends to buy the ZooGue (his own) instead as its much better.

After watching a couple of YouTube clips about how he has sold all his possessions, quit his job, took a $10,000 investment from his best friend's Dad and flown out to China it stopped becoming funny and I felt really bad for him.

Schneider, there's no helping people out like that. He is going to have to learn from this mistake on his own. I just hope that he doesn't lose all his saving or the friendship after he is unable to repay the money.

Utterly depressing stuff. Drawing attention to it just makes me more sympathetic. Reminds me when you get people on shows like Dragon's Den who just don't have the self awareness. :(

You know everything about me. Hey do you think maybe i could hire you to do a bio on me.

Since you already have a head start on it. It will work out great. See you can help me after all.

I have plenty of self awareness my sad friend. Please do not feel bad for me you dont even know me. I wouldnt want to make you any more depressed.

I have all my savings in this company.
Risky? to you yes. To me not at all. Why? I have been here before, And i know what i need to do?
Personally I would bet my money more on someone that is passionate/motivated and experienced then on someone with just a good idea, and i have both.

Thank You,
Tim Angel

I think the case is going to blow up.

I wouldnt worry to much for this kid. Seems like he's very young and very smart. He's harnessing the web to get people interested in his project. I would also imagine that it keeps him accountable, too. He knows everybody is watching and it motivates him. And as far as selling everything and leaving his job, there's nothing crazy about that. Its just a sign that he's all in. Thats passion. Key ingredient for success.

No matter what happens with this project (which I think will succeed), he's gaining amazing experience. How many people would have the balls to sell everything and go to China? CHINA! Thats like flying to Mars. DIFFERENT WORLD.
Its guys like him that take risks and succeed. If it doesnt make him rich, the experience will certainly at least make him even better prepared to successfully implement his next idea GO TIM.

And for you clowns on here bagging and insulting the guy a personal level, you are what you are. Nobody pays you much mind.

Hey Thanks,

It's people like you that make me want to deliver the best quality product possible and will do anything, and everything to please my customers.

The Rich part honestly is not my main goal though. To be honest I do not need to be rich. Just at the time when i started this company it sounded good "broke to rich". But my main goal is to become successful, and donate $1,000,000.00 while doing it. And mark my words one year from now or 10 years from now i will, i repeat i will donate $1,000,000.00 to support children around the world,

Thanks again,
Tim Angel

Hey Thanks,

I cant even tell you how great it feels to here someone thats been there and delt with all the mistakes that china can make if you are not sitting there watching them.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Countless times we had the same problems. So many times I lost count. I used to be up at 1 in the morning building inventions at about 10 years old. I remember this one time my dad was fighting with the factory on the phone for hours. haha

Yes i had many people tell me, you dont need to go to china to get your product manufactured. They are right, But since i am risking everything on this product, there is just simply no room for production errors. So i decided to just live here and watch over everything. I will fly home when my products are shipped.

Thanks Again,
Tim Angel

Hey Thanks,

Yes i had many people tell me, you dont need to go to china to get your product manufactured.

These people have obviously never had a product made from scratch in China. Sure everyone can look through a factories poorly made difficult to understand broacher and pick what they want to be shipped. But when making the actual products for yourself it's a whole different world. As I already said I have the upmost respect for what you are doing especially with the state of the economy at the moment, its simply not viable for me to have new products made at the moment because 6 months down the line everyone else will be selling for less than I'll be producing.

Good luck mate

I think we should give this guy a break. I personally think you are a marketing genius, Tim. The videos are intriguing and I don't know who else would have thought to put the hospital room videos up but it kind of wraps you in, like an ongoing drama. I think the logo is a little big but I will give your case a good look because I almost feel like I know you and I want you to succeed. BTW, smart of you not to reveal the features for your mentioned reasons. Best of luck!!!

hahaha o man the hospital was a little scary with those iv's in me so many times.

See people im even risking my life for this company. hahaha.

I guess i just wanted to show that things dont always go exactly as planned. Yes I understand your concern with the logos but hey this is only 5,000 pcs. I will definetly eventually have more than one model to cater to different tastes. I much appreciate the honesty yet kindness my friend.

Thanks Again,
Tim Angel

ps: if i dont respond to everyones comments its because it is 8 in the morning here and i have not slept yet. That's what I like to call passion my friends

It amuses me that you care so much about what strangers on a message board think. So what if some of us don't like it--I absolutely hate what I've seen but hey, at least you've got a vision and you are doing something about it. You should expect not to please everyone, and not worry about replying to those that you will never please. Good luck.

Is there something completely revolutionary about your case that you don't want a big company to see. As far as I can tell most cases are just a bit of material that goes round the iPad with a zip.

To be honest my case is very simple. (no zipper though) But o man it is convenient.

Ya there are some really nice case's out there but i have to say my favorite so far is Apple's Official Case.

Its simple and convenient.

Ya and as far as the details again i apoligize but i can not say.

Thanks Again,
Tim Angel

Tim I like what you are doing but how long do we have to wait ? , I thought you said some company from the UK stole it from the factory. How much will the case retail for.

Ps: sort out your camera dimensions for the YouTube videos

Well i thought someone in the factory showed the idea to someone in the UK because the factory i am currently working with has thier main customer base in the Uk. But now i believe it may have just been a coincidence. And I believe what my manufacturer has told me about this situation.

As of right now it will retail for $39.99 which to be honest is a great price compared to my competitors. Not only is it a great price but its a high quality product handmade out of leather.

I believe my best defense against copetitors and people that will knock my case off is to have a great price.

Yes i could have used a rubber as a potential material but that would have raised the price tremendously due to the mold.

I have to say im very glad to now be making the case out of leather. It is the best fit for my Smart Case.

Yes i could have used a fake leather and brought down the price but hey, we are talking about a case for an iPad. My ipad is like a baby to me haha and im sure everyone else feels the same way.

hahaha you are right man, its impossible to please everyone.

haha I just get a little carried away because i am so invested in this product and company, and believe in it 100%.

Much respect my friend

Thanks

Well, I didn't form an opinion from the first post because it was hard to tell what the case is or isn't.

But now that Tim has replied, I've seen that he's passionate about his product, has replied reasonably/professionally to harsh criticism and personal attacks, and has a sense of humor.

So now I'll be following his progress and as long as his case is reasonably useful, there's a good chance I'll be buying it to show some support to an entrepreneur.

Good luck man. Please let me know your blog URL.

You can thank me for the exposure, now where is my cut on the profits??
jk :D:p

Tim, you can use the Multi-Quote button instead of individually replying with a single quote.

Good luck Tim and remember to sell a few in China too. I'm here and every decent product gets ship out overseas with out being available in China

Like the iPad :(

Btw, twitter is a good idea. I went to your site just find the twitter addy. Without it, i doubt I'll keep track of a case for a month and a half. Blogs, Facebook etc you have to go to. Twitter comes to you.

Oh yeah you should definitely open up a Twitter, not a Facebook or any of that crap..
