I'm amazed the owner of the company takes such an unprofessionaL and immature attitude to posting with a known account in a public forum. If there wasn't as much material as there is I would guess the poster was a 13 year old kid having a laugh pretending to launch a company.

MacRumors is a well established site. It will be near the top of the search results for your product. Do you really want those types of replies to be the first thing your customers see?

Welcome to retail. People say mean things. People have attitude. But as a retailer you can't let it get to you and must always remain professional.

Also how can so many people have such strong opinions for or against the case? We've seen a black slab with some green edging.

Ditto. I like the color of the leather, and from the small bit I could see of it, it looks like nice leather. But I am also uninterested unless it is offered without the big logo. I need to look professional, and big logos are too casual.

It doesn't look like leather to me but maybe i'm wrong.

It is too bad so many cases are taking a while to come out. I don't feel safe with my iPad outside of a case so I don't want to wait a month. I barely want to wait for Quirky, nevertheless one I have no information about.

Not a fan of the logo but if you ever come out with a black case with neon green pm me. Those are my favorite colors. :D

Thank You my I will try to keep you informed.

Don't like the logo but if it's sleek like the apple case I am interested in seeing it. How long until the version without the logo will be released?

I will let everyone know but It may be possible to not put the embossed logos on the current model. Even though they have started production I don't think they have done the embossing yet. I will be going to the factory in 2 hours and I will let everyone know tommorrow.

The pictures and information will be released May 27th and the product will be available for shipping in June

Thank You,
Tim Angel

Tim:

Good luck to you. I am sorry there are so many insensitive and arrogant people on the forum. I am still searching for a case that operates like a folding book that has a space for a MiFi card. Many of us using the iPad use the MiFi card but no one has produced a case that has a pocket for it on a folding type of case.

Thankyou for the suggestion I have been looking into that and I am working on a new model that would accomadate a mifi card.

Thank You,
Tim Angel

I look forward to your announcement some day.

Thank You,
Tim Angel

There is a reason why prudent business people do not sell everything they own and invest it in an unproven business (or, at this point, business idea) on the other side of the world in China.

I am surprised at the number of people supporting this gentleman in his efforts. Yes, we all like the underdog to win . . . but, we should at least like the underdog to have the common sense to know how to spell properly, design a product without gawdy logos, treat ALL customers with respect even if they are criticizing your product, and have some realistic backup plan instead of throwing caution to the wind.

I'm not saying it can't be done - but everything I've seen from this guy points towards failure. And yes Mr. Angel, feel free to respond to this with a sarcastic childish response instead of a logical, well reasoned answer.

I think people support me because I am honest, and I am letting everyone in on my journey from begining to end on You Tube.

I am not pretending in my videos, Im not acting, Im just documenting my reality.

I am sorry about my poor spelling, I was never to much into school.
For example when I was 14 I was not doing good in school because I was constantly working on our brand of razor scooters that we sold at the local swap meet. Since I was making $500 a day at 14 years old it was hard to be more intrested with school than business.

I always tell my younger sisters school is very important but for me I just was never book smart/ or intrested in it. But I am very street smart, and a born Entrepeneur.

I understand that you dislike some of my comments. Call it childish, call it irrisponsible. You can call it what ever you like, I call it truth. I try to respond in an appropriate and professional way, but I also believe that everyone should be treated with respect including myself. You may say no one has to respect me, because I am the owner of a company. But I disagree.

I have been in retail since the day I was born and completly understand where you are coming from. But I do not care to sell my product to people that make personal attacks on me. It is about respect, you respect me and I will respect you back. Yes I know you are thinking well business is not personal. Well some people make it personal.

Like I said before, It may seem very risky what I am doing. However I know because of my plan there is very little risk. Yes there is a risk of my plane crashing, Or the boat sinking with my product on it.

This is not something I just all of a sudden decided to do. I have been waiting for this since I was born. There is nothing in the world that can stop me.

Thank You,
Tim Angel

Since I was making $500 a day at 14 years old it was hard to be more intrested with school than business.

I'm honestly trying not to rip on you with this post Tim, but this quote sounds more like something a drug dealer would say rather than a savvy businessman.

Honestly since you seem open to criticism best advice I can give you from a consumer standpoint is instead of embossing the logo on the front stick it in a less conspicuous place. If the case catches on people will want to have the logo and brag about having a "zoogue" if it's not then noone is going to want to buy the case. But noone really wants to stare at a huge "Zoogue smartcase" on the front at this point so have them emboss it inside of the front flap instead of on the outside, or on the kickstand, or some other inconspicous place where people can still point and say "I have a Zoogue" if it's a hit but at the same time not have it so pronounced if it's not. Less worry and hesitation to invest from the consumer standpoint that way IMO.

Put it this way, I don't mind staring at an Apple apple but I absolutely hate staring at a white "incase" label obnoxiously placed on thier cases and I think most people feel the same way.

Good Luck.

This thread is a bucket of fail. Zoogue's lack of professionalism, SchneiderMan's blantant "I want a piece of this but only after I **** all over your product" and the "I made $500 a day when I was 14" .... jesus h ... really.

Timbo, send SchneiderMan a ****ing case so he'll shut up and give his followers a YouTube unboxing and be done with it.

The product looks like schwag I'd get from work sporting the logo as proud as can be for purposes of advertisement. Nothing more.

Stick around Jessica!

Good luck, Tim. Don't let the haters get you down. Most of them are posting from their cubicles where they hope the boss won't catch them slacking off. I respect confidence and putting all your chips in for what you believe. The market will decide if you can back up that bet.

That being said, I don't think I'd buy your case with that logo. But maybe the final product will surprise me.

Tim you are removing the logo ? , what to do is still emboss the logo but do it really small like at the bottom right or something i like the logo but i dont like the bit that says smart case , keep the zoo gue logo but make it about 80% smaller and place it in the bottom right corner now that will look good.

This thread is a bucket of fail...

More like a melodramatic, daytime-TV, Mexican soap opera.

Someone's going to proclaim their undying love for someone in a minute. And then a jealous suitor is going to get even. And then the love child is revealed! And then the factory blows up!!!

It's kinda riveting ;)

I'm all for entreprenurial spirit, but your secrecy puzzles me a bit. You're not planning on unveiling this revolutionary iPad case until you are 3 or 4 weeks out from launch? Doesn't sound like too much of a marketing plan. If you've been selling since you were 14, you'd know that. Take a look at quirky. They've got one hellava iPad case, that will probably never make it to market the way its looking, but its the talk of the iPad town due to their marketing.

I'm not sure of the "I'm afraid someone is going to copy my case" bit. Quirky doesn't seem to care, and I haven't seen any knockoffs making it to market anytime recently, and they've been showing product examples for some time.

I wish you luck, but not sure if this is the million dollar idea that you are looking for, especially if you aren't launching until June. The iPad boat may have already left the harbor.

That is awesome that you went to China and developing a product. I have created some products of my own, but too expensive to mass produce in the U.S.

But as for the rest, I agree with many. Why the big logo, its really a turn off. And why are you arguing with people on the forum? I don't get that. You should take it as opportunity to observe what the response is so you can better your product. All feedback is good feedback if you interpret it properly.

My best guess is that you are really passionate. I have been there, but you need to try to harness your passion in a positive sense and stay away from this nonsense you are getting into.

Good luck, I admire your spirit. But I am not a potential buyer because of that silly logo. Don't take that as a put-down, take it as honest feedback.

Tim is obviously trying to be like Apple, secretive and such...except Apple is a huge company so their silence works to their advantage.

Tim, I really think that you should be trying to market the hell out of your case that way you have buyers lined up when you ship.

I wouldn't buy the case either. Reasons?

1. The giant ugly logo
2. The owner comes off as someone whose goal is to make a lot of money but doesn't really care about his customers.

Am I wrong about #2? Maybe, but that's my perception. The fact is, I would have been MORE likely to have bought a case from this company had I not seen this thread and I get the impression that I am not the only one that feels this way. Not a good marketing strategy, IMHO. He would be better off had he kept as quiet about his feelings in regards to the input from others as he has has about the actual design of the case. All publicity is NOT good publicity.

I agree. Also I saw the new Incase adjsutable stand. I give them for credit for being innovative but, I have to say I think that case is Unstable, and it is bulky. But at least they don't have a giant logo. haha

The Ipad boat has just only started boarding my friend. I understand it is a very short period to market my product. I just want to be carefull that I am the first one to the market with this design. I will be marketing none stop once I release it on May 27th. If anyone wants to help with the marketing, welcome aboard.

I agree I am very passionate about my company so I may have over reacted. I have listened carefully to everyones comments and I have decided to make some changes to let people know I am listening and I care about what they have to say.

I even decided to get an atoplasty, hahah no I am just joking.

Seriously Thank You for the comments I listen to each and everyones comments. And I have made some changes to the case based on some of the comments.

^Chedder is right. You should be trying to market the hell out of this case since you're not even planning on having them ready for sale for another 5 weeks. That's ridiculous.
