Ugh. I hate the case. It will be going back. I was aware that it's going to be thick but not bulky. I want the Moshi one but they're all sold out. :( Bummer.

Yep... mine is going back as well. I thought I would still use the back for now, but it isn’t compatible with Apple’s cover!

:(

Just to confirm, you can remove the logi keyboard and use a apple Smart Cover for the front protection?

Unfortunately.... no. Not compatible with the Smart Cover.

Just got my iPad 10.5, threw on the Logitech Slim Combo and promptly took it off - will be returning it.

The keyboard is nice and feels like a really keyboard, but it's a little awkward when on my lap and is too bulky for me. I'm keeping the ASK and using the 7.99 Moko Cleargrip case for the back until they come out with more options.

how sturdy us the Smart Keyboard? It looks a bit flimsy.

After using it for about 45 minutes, I hate the Logitech "Slim" combo. It's ridiculously bulky because there's at least 2mm of space between the iPad and the keyboard when closed. Personally I don't like the smart keyboard because it's not firm enough to use on a lap. I really loved my Belkin Qode Ultimate Pro keyboard case for the Air 2. I don't care if it doesn't use the smart connector if I could get that exact same case for the 10.5.

My sentiments were unfortunately the same. and the gap is rather large (looks more than 2mm)

It's definitely pliable but if you're looking for something that works and is light and doesn't had additional bulk/weight it's ideal.

I tried to give the Logitech "slim" one more try but it was too much for me.
I feel the same about the slim Logitech. It's definitely not slim. Even if it was a little thick, I wouldn't mind. This is just bulky.

So this “Slim” one is thicker than is predecessor, the Create? That’s quite disappointing if so because I used that one and found it to be superior to the Smart Keyboard.

Ok, I'm confused. Heavy and Bulky? I looked at the specs on the Logitech Slim Combo vs. the ASK for the 12.9. The LSC is 1.41 pounds back included , the ASK alone is 1.48. Yes, the LSC is 1.02 inches at it's thickest point, but if you put the Apple Silicone back on with the ASK, it's not that much thinner seeing as though the ASK is a half inch thick by itself. I currently have the ASK + Apple Silicone Back on my 9.7 Pro, and while it looks and feels amazing, it definitely adds weight. Guess I'm just confused on the heavy/bulky complaints.

I get the issue with bulk because it is definitely that, but I found it easy to adapt the Slim to fit my needs. If I'm working at home, I remove the back and use the keyboard, for example.

Interesting, can you elaborate? How do you keep the iPad upright and connected to the keyboard without the back of the Logitech case?

My first iPad Pro, so it's also my first experience with a keyboard. I bought the Logitech, it seemed like the logical choice. That said, however, it's not nice...at all. Well, to be fair, the 'keyboard' is nice; it has a good feel, and the row of function keys make it workable. Nearly everything else about it is not nice.

[edit] Wow this thing is bad! Logitech usually does a great job in designing accessories, but this thing had to have been pushed out the door without any UX research. It feels like it was a design project for a first year design student.

I'll be returning it and getting the Apple one instead....unless there is some other option out there that I've missed.

Can you elaborate? What don't you like about it in comparison to the ASK?

So excited to get the 10.5 in my hands finally. I'm coming from a 12.9 and have both the ASK and CREATE. I would switch on and off between the two, but mostly used the CREATE because of the shortcut keys and backlighting for night time writing. The case combo of the CREATE also added great overall protection and was sleek-ish to look at atleast, not that the ASK was not.

Onto the 10.5, I bought both the ASK and Slim, I cannot emphasize how disappointed I am at the Slim. It is simply put together so cheaply and minimal thought put behind it. I was so excited for it because of the Surface-like design to it. It is insanely thick for a case. I will be sticking with the ASK and will have to wait for a back protector to come out eventually.

For what they call a "pure typist" I love the feel of the 10.5 ASK.

I'm returning it - too bulky and too plastic-ky.

The back kickstand feels like recycled plastic garbage. Smart Keyboard arrives tomorrow. Logitech going back. I should have followed my gut - the cheap is expensive.

Ditto. Moko Cleargrip getting the job done so far.

There is absolutely NOTHING slid about the Logitech slim keyboard. What a joke, glad I purchased both the ASK and the Logitech. Logitech going back now - just way too big.

Could you use the Logitech keyboard with a third party rear cover or nothing on the back?

I am assuming that the back cover adds a fair amount of bulk.... or is it all in the keyboard?

The bulk is on both the back cover AND the keyboard as well as the wide gap between the two. Although it wouldn't be practical, you could in theory use the keyboard with just the ipad as it only links via smart connector but you wouldn't ever be able to carry it that way due to the design. It's just poorly designed across the board. The only positive thing is that the keyboard itself functions well when typing.

My 12.9 iPad Pro was delivered today. I've finally had the chance to try out both the Logitech Slim Combo and the ASK. I must say, I see what everyone's talking about. It's not that the Logitech is heavy, it just has a weird design and is very awkward to handle. Everything from the protruding area where the keyboard is, to the flimsiness of the built in kickstand. The space between keyboard and the iPad, combined with the kickstand made it really awkward to use in the lap. And the bulkiness complaint from everyone is correct. The ASK is discrete, and designed much better in my opinion; especially for mobility. Just easier to handle overall. The only people I'd recommend the Logitech for are those who's iPad will remain stationary at a desk 90% of the time. The Logitech's better keyboard will make it the winner in this circumstance.

Took mine back today ... loved typing on it but the bulk was crazy ... got the apple keyboard and only thing I need to worry about is the back cover ... so much better even though I’ll miss the backlight.

This made me laugh from the inside, out, “threw on...and promptly took it off”. Basically that case stood no chance with you lol Personally, the case looks unattractive and in need of some cardio. Did anyone purchase it and fully intend to keep it? If so, why over the ASK? I absolutely wish the ASK had a backlit board, but other than that I think it’s hard to beat its size and ease of use.
