Just to confirm, you can remove the logi keyboard and use a apple Smart Cover for the front protection?
how sturdy us the Smart Keyboard? It looks a bit flimsy.Just got my iPad 10.5, threw on the Logitech Slim Combo and promptly took it off - will be returning it.
The keyboard is nice and feels like a really keyboard, but it's a little awkward when on my lap and is too bulky for me. I'm keeping the ASK and using the 7.99 Moko Cleargrip case for the back until they come out with more options.

After using it for about 45 minutes, I hate the Logitech "Slim" combo. It's ridiculously bulky because there's at least 2mm of space between the iPad and the keyboard when closed. Personally I don't like the smart keyboard because it's not firm enough to use on a lap. I really loved my Belkin Qode Ultimate Pro keyboard case for the Air 2. I don't care if it doesn't use the smart connector if I could get that exact same case for the 10.5.
I feel the same about the slim Logitech. It's definitely not slim. Even if it was a little thick, I wouldn't mind. This is just bulky. It's definitely pliable but if you're looking for something that works and is light and doesn't had additional bulk/weight it's ideal.
I tried to give the Logitech "slim" one more try but it was too much for me.
I get the issue with bulk because it is definitely that, but I found it easy to adapt the Slim to fit my needs. If I'm working at home, I remove the back and use the keyboard, for example.
Can you elaborate? What don't you like about it in comparison to the ASK?My first iPad Pro, so it's also my first experience with a keyboard. I bought the Logitech, it seemed like the logical choice. That said, however, it's not nice...at all. Well, to be fair, the 'keyboard' is nice; it has a good feel, and the row of function keys make it workable. Nearly everything else about it is not nice.
[edit] Wow this thing is bad! Logitech usually does a great job in designing accessories, but this thing had to have been pushed out the door without any UX research. It feels like it was a design project for a first year design student.
I'll be returning it and getting the Apple one instead....unless there is some other option out there that I've missed.
I'm returning it - too bulky and too plastic-ky.
Ditto. Moko Cleargrip getting the job done so far.The keyboard is nice and feels like a really keyboard, but it's a little awkward when on my lap and is too bulky for me. I'm keeping the ASK and using the 7.99 Moko Cleargrip case for the back until they come out with more options.

The bulk is on both the back cover AND the keyboard as well as the wide gap between the two. Although it wouldn't be practical, you could in theory use the keyboard with just the ipad as it only links via smart connector but you wouldn't ever be able to carry it that way due to the design. It's just poorly designed across the board. The only positive thing is that the keyboard itself functions well when typing.Could you use the Logitech keyboard with a third party rear cover or nothing on the back?
I am assuming that the back cover adds a fair amount of bulk.... or is it all in the keyboard?
