if you right click on the "activity monitor" icon in the dock you can choose from the "monitors" sub menu a "floating" CPU windows that can be dragged anyplace on the desktop..
I don't remember if SL has it as well... in case it does... apologies!

It is there in 10.6.6 too.
And it might have already been present in Leopard, Tiger or Panther, but I don't run any of them on any of my Macs right now to check.
Safari webcontent
Today I am prolific...
Regarding Safari webcontent... how can it be that 3 tabs open, one with Gmail and the other with a googles search and MacRumors... the webcontent in activity monitor is "eating" up 545 mb of real memory.... couple that with Safari memory needs (another 320 Mb) and you end up with nearly 1Gb of memory gone....
Why on earth Safari is so memory eager while Firefox takes as much as 1/4 or 1/5 of that??
BTW: how can I attach a screenshot to my post so that it's just a picture and not an Imageshack link?

When posting a new post/thread in the compose window at the top there is a paper clip icon:
That takes you to a screen where you can upload the image. Once you have uploaded all the images you want (maximum of 5 per post) close that window and then press the paper clip icon again where you want to insert your image into a post and it will put the required code in for you.

Some people just drop right into a thread without having read the last 20 pages, don't they?
With Magic Mouse it does not work... if I scroll I get the same result as clicking and keeping clicked on the dock icon: it brings up all the open files linked to that app.
How did you do it?
Read through all the previous posts starting from page 1 and they'll answer these questions.
Thats not very friendly. Yes the answer might be there but for some just joining the thread there is really quite a lot to trawl through.

That's a feature of Fast User Switching, has absolutely nothing to do with the method of installation. I think it's off by default.

@xUKHCx: again thanks very much for your kindness; I apologize, should have browsed the thread throughly... my fault, but sometimes among replies, forwards, quotes and the like, it isn't easy to spot what you're looking for.
To clarify, click and hold the app icon in the same way you do in SL to get the app-specific Exposé.
I think a hugely better functionality for something I never used as it took too long. As far as I've tested it works for any program with a Recent Files menu option, though I haven't been very thorough yet.

Disable the Create Local Snapshots option in Time Machine preferences. Time Machine may not be on, but this almost certainly will be, judging by the amount of people all having this problem, with this as the fix.

Just unhide it or from the finder -> Go -> Go To Folder...
i just found out that if you hold option and click Finder's Go menu the home Library appears. im sure theres lots of other option click features to be found
