I could not find a way to make it visible again, but I could reach that destination by finder menu....GO and then "go to folder"... and then typing the path: /Users/.... etc etc..
Once there I made an "alias" of library and I keep it at hand should I need to go there again..

It works!

Folks I know this question have been already answered a thousand times...but where?! So many threads... How can I bring back Users/Library folder?...

The more I use Lion the more I find bugs and shortcomings which are of course perfectly normal being a pre- release.
To name a few:
- Safari has returned to be a memory gobbler using far too many resources compared to the latest SL version
- Dragging a picture out of Safari on the desktop for instance, does not save it as a jpg, but as a webloc file... and that is annoying.
- I find spotlight less snappier than on SL and it takes time to reveal the location of the file
- Preview is buggy and erratic in its behaviour
What do you think?

The volume icon and slider do not represent the changes in volume if you use the multimedia buttons.
When exiting Fullscreen Safari the menu bar at the top keeps auto-hiding as if still in Fullscreen mode.

Its BETA software what do you expect , if its perfection you want then don't run BETA software

Geez, no need for the hostility., the poster stated:

They were asking for peoples thoughts on the experience rather than having a go about bugs.

As this build is aimed at developers ,who are under Apples NDA agreement which they have agreed to by joining the program.

Any bugs ect should be directed to Apples bug reporter, or to the developers forum

Infact I have stated that it's perfectly normal as it is a pre-release... no need to get so "excited"! I was simply asking opinions, not complainig!
You'd rather read better and simmer down a bit eh?

If this is your point, then you either report the entire forum or take a more relaxed and flexible position... take it easy!

Custom stylesheets in Safari

Please mm not sure this question has been asked but am just curious. Has anybody tried to use custom stylesheet in Safari. It used to work in SL but now doesn't seem to work in Lion which leads me to the 2nd question. Where is the default stylesheet of Safari 5.1?

I encountered a bug related to Launchpad and Apps:

I was dragging "Multilingual" into the Utilities Folder, when Lion told me it couldn't perform the action without authentication. I clicked authenticate and it was done.
However, when i opened the Launchpad the Program was in the Main Applications Folder instead.
I tried several things at that point: Moving the Program into the Utilities Folder through the launchpad is possible. Also deleting the program is too. However, no matter where the program is, after it was moved to the Trash the icon remains in the Launchpad.
Moving the icon is still possible, and the Launchpad indicates a "non-existance" by adding a big "?" to the icon, however neither restarting the Mac, nor any other action removes the icon from the Launchpad. (only solution ctrl+alt+cmd)

Also, on a side-note, dragging a Program into a Folder with Launchpad is very hard because the Folder jumps to the side rather than letting you add the App.

I'm facing a problem here that is pissing me off. Every time I try to save something on Text Editor it says I can't do that because I have not permission! Does someone have the solution to my prayers?...

Yes. Report the bug, and don't install a developer preview on a production machine.

Or switch to EMACS or vi.

Looking at the previous pages it seems that this thread isn't about the bugs in Lion but about the many little changes and fixes compared to Snow Leopard. I don't care whether or not stuff works properly or not, it is a beta so I'm certain not everything will work as it should. However, I do want to know about those little changes from Snow Leopard because that's one of the things I'll use to decide to buy Lion or not.

@Jonald: if you quit complaining then you one thing for sure: nothing will change. Stop complaining is certainly not the solution ever! Keep reminding people this is not the place to post bugs however IS the only nice solution (the not so nice one is simply deleting such posts). You might want to think about what you're saying before you post it. It is the most stupidest advice I've ever read...

It is, however, also all about the little changes. Unfortunately it will always be the case that bugs are reported here, as some people are going to be interested in it. So in the nicest way possible, quit complaining about something that is not going to change.

Select more than one object and do a rightclick on the items, you get the option to create a new folder where the files are grouped together.

If you hit command-G it will group them in a folder for you, no need for the menu. Pretty cool.

To open this Java application, you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.

...EVEN THOUGH I am connected to the internet... Anyone else got this when trying to use a Java App?
Where can I find a manual version (java.com only tells me to use Software Update)...?

Firstly, autosave doesn't create explicit files (i.e things you see in the finder) by itself. You still have complete control over that.

If you create files and decide not to save and just quit the app, they will reappear upon launch. So if you do this a lot you'll have to get in the habit of closing windows.

Any time you save a file, you can access that point in time via versions. And any time you close a file, it is autosaved. So in this case, you'd want to use versions to go back in time, instead of the classic method of closing the unsaved file and reopening it.

If versions isn't implemented in a particular app, then the new autosaving won't be, either. It's all the same thing.

I hope that answers your questions.

Is there a terminal level implementation of versions in the developer preview?
