The problem here is in Time Machine. Open it's configurations, click Options and than unbox Create local Snapshots ( I think it might be that in English...)

Right on target. Problem of diminishing HDD space solved! Thanks again.

No AirDrop icon on Finder

Installed Lion on top of Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and the AirDrop icon doesn't show on Finder's sidebar. Any suggestions?

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier, but Preview opens office files in Lion (I didn't have any powerpoint presentation but I tried it with an excel spreadsheet). I don't remember if this was present in earlier releases, but I think it's new.

If you scroll over an app in the dock you can see the last open files of this app.

It's a big download, around 3.5GB. Best bet is to leave it overnight like I did.

Autosave...?

Is it only me who thinks that the Autosave feature could make a lot of mess? On a daily basis I use many apps just to store/create/try some things temporarily. And then I just quit them! They ask me if I want to save changes and I just clik "no". With autosave I will end up with lots of unneded files, containing just some crappy temp things. Or what about editing a file and than realizing that "it's not it" and closing without saving? Is the original version lost? Could it be reverted thru Versions? What if the Versions are not implemented in app that I work in?

Is there any way of customization? Turning off? Or maybe it works in some other way? Maybe ovewriting doesn't occur?

Changing the subject - spotlight seems to have much larger icons. Don't like them. Any chance of going back to smaller ones in prefs?

Applications folder, probably on your Dock as well.

in Applications. I had to download it my wife's iMac, which runs Snow Leopard. It was not possible to download it on mine...don't know why...maybe because it was running Lion which I'd downloaded through Demonoid. I'm installing it at this moment!:D Now I'm completely legal!...By the way PurrBall, do you know what advantages I have being a developer?

When did it go on Demonoid? I got my copy from TPB.

Well, if you're an actual Mac developer, you can dowload Xcode and various SDK's. If you bought an ADC account just for Lion, you'll get access to every developer build as well as the GM. And right now you can also download Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard Server.

Firstly, autosave doesn't create explicit files (i.e things you see in the finder) by itself. You still have complete control over that.

If you create files and decide not to save and just quit the app, they will reappear upon launch. So if you do this a lot you'll have to get in the habit of closing windows.

Or what about editing a file and than realizing that "it's not it" and closing without saving? Is the original version lost? Could it be reverted thru Versions?

Any time you save a file, you can access that point in time via versions. And any time you close a file, it is autosaved. So in this case, you'd want to use versions to go back in time, instead of the classic method of closing the unsaved file and reopening it.

If versions isn't implemented in a particular app, then the new autosaving won't be, either. It's all the same thing.

I hope that answers your questions.

Cursors have now been redrawn as vector objects, at least in places. They're still quite buggy and pixelated in some areas, though this will change in later builds.

I don't get it, then you can no longer repeat a key by holding it down? For example, now I can type this: "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" when I hold down the letter I.
Forgive me for asking, I have only used computers for about 20 years or so, in exactly what situation is this useful whatsoever?

That's an excellent point. I'd like to say that it shouldn't be changed, but can come up with absolutely no reasons why.
It's the way it's always been, it feels weird to change it.

thats awesome! Preview also opens office 2010 files and retains formatting better than TextEdit and iWork docs as well!

Well that's crap unless spring-loaded folders can move 1 file or a number of files to different folders in other locations, with out making new folders.
and @ SteveBallmer & TheMessenger

You can do that now with SL (prob been around a while) with drag/drop and spring loaded folders. When you are holding the file(s) over the desired destination, hold CMD to Cut/Paste. Alternatively hold OPT to Copy/Paste.
