Autosave saves every change that you make - even if the file is not "saved" yet. NB The only app which supports this so far is TextEdit.

A nice side effect of this are lightening fast app shutdowns. :)

I notice that the 'restart in safari' lock screen option is present even on MBR machines like mine without the recovery partition. Simply causes the machine to reboot normally, but a bit lame they're not checking.

Finally got around to installing Lion today.

Did I miss a memo? Did Apple remove hex codes from DigitalColor Meter?

When adding a widget to the dashboard, can you swipe on the trackpad to see the other widgets, or do you still have to press the arrows on the sides?

Apple doesn't really support non-GPT booting of OSX so I can't really fault them for that. It works, sure, but it's not something you should be using really.

As far as OSX is concerned it's a GPT drive (that is, it's a hybrid GPT/MBR drive): just one without a recovery partition. There are lots of scenarios where someone could be running Lion on a drive without a recovery partition, and hence 'restart to Safari' would fail.

Not a big issue by any means, but one that could easily be sorted by checking for the presence of the partition.

Thats a bit misleading. That makes it sound like you can get a snapshot of every character or whatever you do.

I was under the impression that it saves every 15 minutes or when certain other actions are taken (like switching to a different application).

I already tried everything, still a delay. Will report it to Apple, but I hoped I could get it confirmed in this forum before I do it.

I had that delay, but if you disable "Smart Zoom" in Trackpad settings under System preferences, the delay vanishes. It seriously sucks, but thats that I guess.
I like the new way of scrolling, but in minecraft again, hot bar scrolling is inverted and that feels wrong even if you're used to inverted scrolling everywhere else. haha

Any way to turn off auto correct?

Actually I found it, its under 'Language and Text' in the 'Text' tab in sysprefs "Correct Spelling Automatically"
But it looks like you have to restart your apps for the change to take effect..

Anyways. I'm surprised by the lack of customization options in the Finder sidebar! Folders I placed there in SL can't be drag-poofed out (admittedly they can be removed via rightclick) and having devices at the bottom irks me.. I also found in General System Preferences the sidebar icon label sizes can be tweaked back to small. Dunno if its been said..
I feel like I have to do too many workarounds for a workable workflow.... haha

I don't know if it has been reported already: new tabs in Safari now open close to their "mother" tab where they originate from and not like in SL that all new tabs were opening at the bottom.

I noticed this, too! I like it.

(and no one had pointed this out on this thread yet).

I always need some kind of security on all systems. So I did in SL use TM on an with PGP (Whole disk) encrypted external FW drive. With File vault 2 is there a chance to backup on time capsule and have the backup encrypted, would be great if that would work.....
or would be an decrypted copy like in SL??

Thanks

One more thing, is it just me or is the two finger scrolling (in Safari or mail for example) exactly opposite direction than in SL ? Can that be changed somewhere, for me it is just more natural to scroll down when i want to move down a page...

How is the zooming in Safari while flash content, like a Youtube video, is playing? Is it smooth or choppy?

New feature: checkboxes in My Card

On ones "My Card" in Address Book, there are check boxes that allow you to choose what and what not to share.

How about the Open/Save dialog actually remembering the ORDER in which you store your icons in a specific folder? I bet it still can't do that can it? It must be hard to code...

If you mean the sort order, then yes, the Open/Save dialogs do remember what sorting you set in the Finder.
