notifications animation

anyone noticed the animation when closing a reminder notification ?

not sure it was there before the DP3, but there is kind of disappearing into smoke when you click on the close button. (poof effect, /System/Library/CoreServices/NotificationCenter.app/Content/Resources/poof1.jpg)

pity i cant catch it in a screen shot, it happens very quickly.....

Really enjoying ML DP3. I did a clean install, because I was on SL.

First impressions: it's fast, it's pretty stable, memory management SEEMS to be better than Lion (worse would be impossible). I like it.

A major bug (I don't know if it affects everyone) I found is this:
deselect 'group application windows' in MC preferences. Then create a new desktop. Try to drag a window to that new desktop. It won't ever let you out of Mission Control. I had to do a hard reset, since there was really no way to get out of it.

This doesn't happen if you have 'group application windows' selected. What happens then is that dragging and dropping windows between Desktops works just fine.

I mentioned this bug in another thread...

Opening an email link to a specific site indeed opens your Safari browser, but it does not take you to that site. Instead, it just opens your browser to the home page. You have to click on the email link a second time to go to the desired site.

Minor problem that I am certain will be fixed.

Oh, I have a feeling it affects everyone. I managed to recreate the problem on my first attempt following your steps.

https://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/

I'm going to file this right now. It's a rather nasty issue.

same problem with any attachment in Mail (excel, word, pdf, etc....)
first click opens the application with a blank document, second open the document or link you clicked within Mail.

I don't know about anyone else, but i've had a lot of freezing issues since the developer preview 3 update, and I've had Mountain Lion since the first.

I don't have that issue. Files or links go straight in from Mail for me.

How do you use notificationscenter with Magic Mouse gestures?

Map Notification Center to a keyboard shortcut under the "Keyboard" preference pane in System Preferences. Then use Better Touch Tool to map a mouse gesture to the keyboard shortcut. In the future, Better Touch Tool will likely have a native method to invoke Notification Center, but this is a workaround for now.

safari full screen

any chance safari has adopted a true full screen approach like chrome?

the world of the web looks so much nicer when you don't have an address/tab bar staring at you in the face constantly.

Faster indeed

The last update made my mac very smooth.
Nothing crashes and I was also able to enable TRIM support for OCZ VII.

Using it for 2 days and no issues yet.
Love the new (old...) expose.
Safari - all jokes aside - is definitely snappier though the youtube fullscreen is an issue.

You enabled trim support natively? Or did you use a third-party program? I wasn't aware ML brought trim support for non-apple SSDs.

Trim Enabling

You enabled trim support natively? Or did you use a third-party program? I wasn't aware ML brought trim support for non-apple SSDs.

Natively. It doesn't support by default non Apple SSDs.

I used this Guide:

1. Backup the file we’re patching
sudo cp /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage.original

2. Patch the file to enable TRIM support
sudo perl -pi -e 's|(\x52\x6F\x74\x61\x74\x69\x6F\x6E\x61\x6C\x00{1,20})[^\x00]{9}(\x00{1,20}\x51)|$1\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00$2|sg' /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage

3. Clear the system kernel extension cache
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

sudo kextcache -system-caches
4. Now Reboot!

Please don't do anything unless you are sure of what you are doing!
This works in Lion also.

Photostream

I can't seem to find Photostream in the sidebar of iPhoto. Yes I have Photostream enabled, and have my iCloud account set up, but do not have access to my Photostream pic's.

In Lion, there is a separate folder for Photostream pic's...

Have any others had this issue? Fix?

Calendar, CalDav and Zimbra

It seems that with the DP3 Update it is impossible to create new events to a CalDav Zimbra calendar... (deleting events works though)

I am getting the following errors:

"The request for “New Event” in “Calendar” in account “webmail.***.nl” failed.
The server responded with “400” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."

Anyone?

Are there any new features to safari besides the tab cloud sync? Like Username and password snc between computers, extensions etc? I like safari, but it can't compare to Chrome when I'm using multiple computers.

Looking forward to ML!
