I could be wrong, but in the Accounts Pref-Pane when you go to change your picture, it has one of the new white "pop" pop-overs that offers 4 options: Defaults, Recents, Faces and Camera. Nice to see some more UI unification following their own new introductions in Lion, seems neater somehow. Also nice to see faces integration too.

I could be mistaken but your dock looks like the pre-ML dock.

EDIT: my bad I realize that screenshot was taken pre-GM release.

So I upgraded from SL to ML.
Lots of new features for me I'm still learning.

This is probably a stupid question but...

The multi gesture and swiping - is that only for the trackpad?
I can't find anything for the mouse.

Only magic mouse has gestures (that I know)

Why is each app there twice

Safari devolution

In safari, if you have multiple tabs open and they exceed the space on the window, the clickable arrow on the rightmost pane will only show the titles of the tabs that don't fit the window.
The tabs showing in the window have the titles truncated, so it's difficult to identify the pages, especially if they have the same initial title words.

what are you talking about??? :/

How is it fail? It's more intuitive, which I must say I've come to believe is something Apple value highly (despite hiding away certain options like they lost money every time someone used them).

Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Note, Mail, Messages... I wonder if even iPhoto will turn into Photos in the future, like in iOS.

I think he means that it's a fail that he didn't notice

Installed it yesterday and haven't had a single problem since then. My computer works super fast now. The second I open the screen, boom it's on with password ready to go without any keyboard lag like in SL or Lion for me.

Safari is literally on fire. Love the 2 finger swipe pinch tab idea as it is very convenient. I can finally have 20 tabs open with no lag or memory hog whatsoever!

Battery life has improved a lot for me and the overall feel and use of this OS is 10 fold better than Lion's.

I think if you are planning of upgrading, you should. Lion wasn't even close to this. I'm very happy - hopefully iOS6 will blow me away just like ML did.

Yeah I have magic mouse, I guess I should have clarified that.

On the Apple site for gestures, everything is being done on a trackpad.
I have been able to do some on the MM but most I can't.

Should I be able to duplicate all the gestures on the MM as well?

Anyone else finding the logged in user's name up in the menu bar as annoying?I know who I am, I don't need my computer reminding me, lol.

Does anyone know how to get rid of that?

I've been wondering how the two finger left swipe will work for Notification Center while Safari is in the foreground. Right now the two finger swipe is to go forward a page.

Jagardn- if you start from off the trackpad while swiping it will only be recognized for Notification Center.

P.S. I hope we can customize the Notification Center with widgets.

Command + click and drag your User name off the Menu Bar. Bye Bye!

Thanks! I'll give that a try when I get home!

Man I hate that Notification icon in the right corner!
I always blindly pressed the spotlight shortcut for search. Grrr. :)

Also trackpad is lagging like hell!
A lot of people have that problem.

just use command+space to bring up spotlight. BTW you should use Alfred for quick find and open

Anyone know how to get the key-repeating feature back?

This doesn't seem to be working for me:

defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false

You can't have a folder within a folder in iCloud?!

LOL was JUST talking to the only other person i know who's updated so far...
and he's not seen this.

will have to catch when it happens. was reloading a forum page, and there was a slight fade in. has happened several times, but mostly...not.

so it means something (a new post? my meds wearing off?) not sure.

will literally keep an eye on it.
I seriously LOL'd at that. I normally don't laugh at things on the internet, but you sir have made me laugh.:D

Som really fine refinements in Mail!

In Mail when you select multiple messages from the list they appear in a stack in message view. Also there is a nice UI animation if you deselect (with cmd+click) a message from the list the page with the corresponding message flies away on the left and if the message is in the middle of the stack the first page curls to reveal the message page and flies away the same way.

Also when you view a conversation, in message view your messages have a grey background and replies white!

You're my hero! ;)

This was driving me up the wall until I read John Siracusa’s excellent Mountain Lion review at arstechnica.com. He details a terminal command to disable Smooth Scrolling altogether:

defaults write -g NSScrollAnimationEnabled -bool NO

Reminders: Type "Finish Project tomorrow" and it makes a reminder with that name, but scheduled for tomorrow. Little thing that has been done repeatedly (including Producteev) but good nonetheless. Sorry if this has been posted, but three finger tap for quicklook, and look up instead of double three finger tap. Logging in is a slide-up of the linen instead of a zoom.

P.S. Another thing is my wake-from-sleep for my MacBook Pro. From 10 seconds to instant-on!
