Been using it for a day so far, without any problems..

Running ALOT better than Lion's .0 release.

New feature i spotted (i think), is that quicklook now shows size of folders. Really good, when you are cleaning stuff op.. the CMD+I became tiresome.

I found the cmd + i annoying too, until I discovered the inspector, cmd + alt + i and it is amazing. Try using that for some time. But the quicklook feature is very nice too!

It doesn't look as if it setting a location based reminder on the mac transfers over to the iPhone.

I at first got excited seeing that you could set any location just by typing an address (rather than having to have the adress in your contacts like on iphone), but then when looking on my iphone the reminder had the location based alert switched to off.

It's not impossible to drag an image from Safari in fullscreen mode to the desktop, all you do is drag the image to the side of the screen and you jump to the next space or desktop. As my Safari window is usually in the first space it is really quick to get back to the desktop. If you want a clutter free Desktop to drag stuff too just use one of the blank spaces.

If I need to use an app with the desktop or multiple windows I usual turn off fullscreen mode and return to a window environment.

Full Screen mode is just a handy way to move apps out of your desktop windowed environment, the perfect example is Skype as it is always on but I don't need to see it unless I'm using it, also the fat interface is no longer an issue as i always put it in a space.

I agree that it would be nice to load apps always fullscreen and even set what space they are in, maybe next time we will see that update?

The dragging issue was a problem at the time I wrote this, but it has since been fixed by an update. Though I still think that you should be able to see your desktop by doing a 4-finger-unpinch even when you're in Full Screen, as having to drag the image or file to a desktop next-door and then maybe having to do a 4-finger-unpinch is a lot of gestures for such a simple task.

I see what you mean that it's good to have an app in its own environment, I do that all the time too. But I don't want small apps filling up the screen, like Skype. It just doesn't look and feel right, it feels like you're locked into a small box, somehow, so I just make a bunch of desktops and assign one app for each desktop, and then if ever there is need, I can open the Finder or something on top of an app and easily drag a file into Skype to send it to someone, etc… I feel that full screen unnecessarily forces me to find ways around multitasking.

I understand that full screen is meant to be an "isolation mode" where you get rid of all distractions, but why should it be this way? I mean, sometimes I want something in full screen (Photoshop, Safari, etc…) but I don't want to stop multitasking. I still want to be able to easily drag stuff between apps, without having to do extra gestures. It feels clumsy and it feels like I'm not using the OS the way it was designed.

The OS should work the way my intuition wants it to work, not the other way around. Apples is generally good at this, but this Full Screen stuff and Mission Control seems to be (to me at least) as a step in the wrong direction. It has so much potential yet it only seems to work nicely for some specific cases.

Delete key no longer goes back a page in Safari. And as others have mentioned, the menubar no longer shows how much time is remaining for the charge. :( Also, the battery is fully charged, on AC power but says 95%. Anyone else?

----------

You can no longer display how much time is left on a charge.

I'm going to miss that feature. :(

I turned it on and I see a microphone, but it doesn't look like it's recording.

I did it once but then I had to restart my computer, but now its all grayed out.. I think Apple needs to be notified of this.

Smooth scrolling

Am I missing something? Where did the option "Use smooth scrolling" (General tab) go? :( I don't use this feature and now in some apps it seems smooth scrolling is on regarding to system settings. I don't think it used to smooth scroll in these apps in Lion :( I'm talking mostly about third party apps Coda 1/2 etc. Safari doesn't scroll smooth. It's odd

----------

Those who misses remaining time for the charge I recommend SlimBatteryMonitor instead of "built in" indicator.

Mac App Store bug

I restarted the computer twice and the App Store still won't let me sign in it.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

But I did get dictation to work.

Update: I wish that Apple would make a Store preferences (in System Preferences) so that you would have multiple ways of solving these such glitches.

I found a bug (maybe). I haven't found a way to recreate it but sometimes when I switch from tabs in Safari I get a fat scroll bar on the side, other times I get the skinny one and switching between tabs will correct the large scroll bar back to a smaller one.

How does this work?

I have 6 tabs open in Safari on ML and on opening Safari on my iPad I don't see any of them.

it will sync, when iOS 6 comes out.

Mountain Lion looks awesome, however I have 2 burning questions:

1. Will it make the tea, and do the dishes?

2. More importantly, will it incorporate better TRIM support for 3rd party SSD's without resorting to using 3rd party enabler apps?

TRIM is supported on all SSD's which have TRIM enabled on a firmware level. So don't bother trying it on an Intel SSD (for now).

If you disable Resume via

Code:
defaults write com.apple.Preview NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false

when you hold down Opt at the same time as Command-Q (or selecting Quit in the file menu), you get the option "Quit and Keep Windows". It then restores the open windows the next time (and only the next time) you start the program.

Is this new in ML? I never knew about it in Lion.

a couple little things i've noticed:

new trash can

when waking after the battery dies, the gay screen with the progress bar is now only slightly opaque, showing the login screen underneath

I really like the new download animation next to the downloads folder:

and iTunes seems to load much faster (maybe it's just me)

Before on my iMac it would never connect to my router automatically (even though it would see my wireless network), now this little quirk seems to be fixed or gone with ML

I notice that in iMessage, It does not list your buddy list/ contacts like before...everything is integrated into the iMessages chat boxes..

It just doesn't appear without you forcing it to. You can make the buddy list show up by clicking it under the "window" section of the menu bar, or by hitting ⌘1.

it's there by design (for better or worse), so that the more-hopeless of us can grab onto it to scroll LOL

Was the option to show week numbers in Calendar in Lion already? If so, I totally missed it:

I know its a long running joke.....but holy crap.....for the first time ever Safari is noticeably "snappier"

Night and Day.

I believe that was there in Lion.
