Cmd + / icon size slider in 10.9 Finder?

Hi!

I'm new to MacRumors. :D I'm running Mt. Lion on a mid-2009 Macbook.

I'm hoping in Mavericks, Cmd + / will bring the icon size slider on the bottom of the finder. I'm also hoping they brought back icon size adjustment in File > Open dialogs.

Can anyone confirm or deny the above two?

Gene

The disk not ejected properly dialog is a notification now:

It's not gone, they are changing how this works now in Mavericks. Look at Sys Prefs > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility to enable Moom.

Just wanted to say thanks - this was exactly what I needed to get TypeIt4Me to work. The app is slow to respond, but at least it has access!

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but newly installed apps in Launchpad have a really cheesy sparkle effect surrounding them.

I can't screenshot as I only read this from someone else.

Can someone please test (and post a screenshot) if you're able to place (and receive) FaceTime Audio calls from Mavericks?

I noticed something!!! In Messages when you type "<3" it autocorrects it to a heart. Don't ask me how I found that out...

When an app is minimized and you do a Command + tab does it bring the minimized app up front? Thanks!

Doesn't look like it is added yet.

And whoever wanted to know, Yes emojis are in the messages app.

I love how they're making OS X more and more unobtrusive. The only annoying dialogs you got were Low Battery and Disk not ejected properly. Now these appear as notifications.

Kudos to !

Take that windows users eheh. :D

The safari thing for saved passwords and non-secure forms could still see some reworking, although I don't know how.

Can anyone confirm if the app Mirage Dock works on 10.9?

It's a small free app that makes your dock invisible.

Thanks in advance!

They seem to be doing a really nice job with UI consistency, at last. Calendar and Address Book were clearly the standout odd ones in ML, but the Mac App Store has also always been different with its unified titlebar and toolbar - has this been changed in Mavericks?

Nope. The upcoming iBooks Store will also look the same.

One annoyance I've had with Mac OS since I started using MobileMe to sync my data a while back was that applications such as Contacts and Calendar wouldn't update if they weren't currently running. This meant that every time you opened these apps they would have to refresh. If you weren't connected to a wifi network, they wouldn't be up to date.

Because of this, I usually keep apps like Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Reminders always running on my Mac but hidden. This is annoying because even though they aren't doing anything they still can affect the CPU usage and battery life on my machine.

I have no good way of testing this myself but I was hoping someone else might. Does anyone know if apps like Contacts and Calendar now update when they aren't running?

I am not sure what is the best test for this.

As an example, i updated a contact on my iPad. Went to my mac where contacts has been shut through out, and the contact change was reflected in the messages app as well as a third party app called cobook.

I have had issues such as this with notes and reminders.

With App Nap and Memory Compression in 10.9, why would you ever shut them down?

Can anyone confirm the point of synergy working. I have a mac client running synergy in client mode and wanted to know if this is going to work post upgrade.
