Does anyones Location service work in Maps? It worked in DP1 for me, but hasn't ever since. (Maps > View > Go to Current Location). It;s added to Location services, and is ticked off.

Good News Everyone! DP3 is out

Works fine for me.

Does it let you tick it on? You may have to unlock the system preferences lock before you can do that though.

Yepp. I've tried re-enabling and everything just doesn't want to work :p Filed a bug report on DP2, but it could be just me.

Still no iBooks in sight. I'm getting slightly irritated.

Huh? I thought it was a given that iBooks would not be pre-bundled with OS X and would be available on the Mac App Store, just as iBooks is not technically bundled with a fresh install of iOS. I would never expect to see the app suddenly pop up in a newer developer preview. That's not to say they won't offer a pre-release installer at some point for testing, but it'd be separate.

Is 10.9 DP corrupting files?

Ok guys I've been digging into this for the past several hours. I started noticing almost as soon as I installed DP 1 that occasionally a pdf or png/jpg sitting on my desktop would lose it's preview icon
Screen%20Shot%202013-07-09%20at%20%20[Jul%209,%2013]%201.01.02%20AM.PNG
and once it did that and I tried to preview it I wouldn't get an image. attempting to open the file would result in an error message.

More of my files have started to become corrupted like this but I can't spot a pattern. I don't even want to connect my Time Machine Drive for fear that it might somehow corrupt those as well. I'd love to crack this nut before just giving up on 10.9 DP until GM.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Perian seems to be working again.

I usually don't use Quicktime for watching movies, but VLC instead. But since I was too lazy to change it to auto-open-in-vlc movies opened in quicktime. In DP2 this didn't work and I just got an error, now they open and play again.

I'm noticing a few nasty and obvious bugs were squashed in DP3, but aside from that, no real changes functionality-wise. We also have to consider that when Mavericks was introduced at the WWDC, the build # was already fairly mature at that point, so unlike in the past, we've been previewing a near-finished product and likely won't see major changes. Just about the only thing to look forward to are new wallpaper packs, which generally come near the very end.

Bugs fixed:

- Right clicking a selected item in Finder with "list" view causes the selection to use an old style with much more rounded corners (which were changed to less rounded corners in DP2.)

- iCloud keychain would hang during setup and show a blank window with no options or prompts, forcing you to abort the setup. Now, it gets further, but I notice there's a new bug where you can't actually enter for 4-digit PIN. Some genius set the text fields to use a max length of 0 so you can't type anything. Lol.

There is a new animation for when you have a html5 video in fullscreen (using Safari) and go back to normal size.

EDIT: Ok, now it works like before. It may was a bug, but it's weird because it looked good :S

How Can I make a clean install of DP3?? I have to install DP1 and then upgrade to DP3?

Couple of reboots later and they are back in all their glory ;)

However, switching between Standard and Hybrid/Satellite (i.e. loading in the satellite mapping) is quite slow and unresponsive. Maybe in the next release notes we'll see "Maps are snappier"

On another smaller note the screenshot images are seeming unhappy to be emptied from trash (still in use...) they have to be 'put back', reopened and closed before they are finally able to be removed.

You're getting irritated at something that's not supposed to be released for a few months until the Fall? Apple never said iBooks was going to be in the betas itself and I don't call the exact words but I don't think they meant iBooks bundled with Mavs but rather as a separate app in the App Store that will require Mavs at least to run it.

Mavericks is absolutely atrociously slow on my new Mac Mini's... Apple needs to drop those slow hard drives from their Mini lines ASAP.
