iTunes song change notifications. Mouseover reveals a button labeled "Skip" that forces iTunes into focus before then skipping the newly started song.

I'm not sure if this is new in DP5, or even in Mavericks, but I just noticed it. Safari shows a play arrow when a tab has a video playing in it.

There is no syncing. Not sure where Apple is heading with it, may be just making iCloud sys pref the primary settings for all related features.

So they're thinking of rebranding PhotoStream as..."Photos"? That would be confusing.

I hope this means that photos (i.e. photostream) gets synced outside of iPhoto now.

Right now (ML), you need to open up iPhoto to refresh your photostream. It's annoying if you quickly snap a picture to use in some other app on your Mac, and because it takes a while and there's no progress indicator in iPhoto.

Can anybody test this? Snap a picture on your iPhone/iPad, wait a bit then open up a new Mail compose window on your Mac and insert a photo (3rd button along on the right toolbar) - does it show up in your photostream?

hi,
just wanna ask here about what appropriate way to install Mavericks Developer Preview (DP5)? upgrade from current OS X (10.8.4) directly from app store or is there something else?

Install it on a separate partition in case things go wrong.

Nope, still need to open iPhoto or Aperture.

so if i have a testing machine (i mean my mbp 13" is my testing machine here) i can just doing upgrade from current OS via app store, is that correct?

Yes. However, if for any reason you want to go back to Mountain Lion you'll need to erase your hard drive and use Internet Recovery.

I can double confirm that, I use Aperture - same thing..

In mavericks the scroll bars no longer expand with "show scroll bars when scrolling" checked. :(

They do and they don't. It's extremely buggy for me. Basically it doesn't work 90% of the time.

I thought this was one of the "improvements" of Mountain Lion... I guess it's a step backwards now?
