New animation when deleting files in Finder.
Nice find.

Can you make a video?
It's easy to describe. I believe the animation only happens in list view. Basically, the list collapses smoothly as the file is moved to the trash, sort of like how in iOS, deleting an app icon causes adjacent icons to smoothly transition in into new places to occupy the empty space. Actually, this isn't a file deletion animation, it's a general file moving animation.

Image generation for audio files in Quicklook has been fixed in DP7.

Official Release Notes DP7

Notes and Known Issues

iCloud and iCloud Keychain
• iCloud Keychain users will be prompted to reenable iCloud Keychain after installing Developer Preview 7.

Installation
• Network migration from earlier versions of OS X requires the Migration Update for Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion, available from the Mac Dev Center.
• Migration from Windows is not supported in Developer Preview 7.

iBooks
• PDFs imported into iBooks in previous seeds of OS X Mavericks may be renamed when opened with Preview.

Other
• Screen recordings taken with Developer Preview 7 are not compatible with earlier releases of OS X.
• Fusion Drive volumes created with Developer Preview 7 are not compatible with OS X v10.8.4 or earlier.
• Moving a full-screen Aperture window to a secondary display may prevent the app window from being visible in subsequent attempts to use full screen.
• In full screen in Aperture, some menus and thumbnails aren’t immediately available until the user interacts with them.
• When in full screen in Aperture, the toolbar at the top of the window may not be usable until it is locked.
• Starting in Developer Preview 4, non-admin users will be allowed to install and update software from the Mac App Store. This functionality can be disabled with a profile that sets the “restrict-store-require-admin-to-install” key to true (boolean) in the com.apple.appstore domain.

Is Apple Remote Desktop broken for anyone else in DP7? It keeps telling me to update. Ive installed the latest update, 3.7 build 3051. I am still being told to update.

Went through and compared some apps to ML. Added a couple of things, not all new for DP7.

- big features shown on the Mavericks Preview on Apple.com

I hope that it's possible to make the dock semi-transparent, because an opaque dock to me is bullpoop.

This makes it look like it goes in the folder above. I think that making it slide to the right side would have been more like deleting.

The GIF looks like it is missing a few frames but if you see the items instead of all folders, you'll notice it'll trash the item and select the next item before it slides up.

Sliding to the right would take too long, no way are they going to ever do that.

The animation is quick and subtle, the way it should be.

You should have been the OP of this post. Making an accurate list of all the changes.

Keep up the good work! :)

:< I offered to let him take the first post, but he refused. Being a 20-credit hour college student, I have too little time to scour these things out.

I dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but you can now assign a custom keyboard shortcut to "Compress 'Item Name'" in the Finder. Just go to Sys Prefs > Keyboard > Shortcuts, and add a custom shortcut for "Compress."

Prior OS X versions wouldn't work cause they expected you to add the complete menu item to create the shortcut, which of course changes depending on the name of the item.

I believe this also works for "Burn 'Item Name' to Disc," if you're into that sort of thing.

It wouldn't have to slide all the way. They would only have to make it slide like half an inch and make it disappear in a fade at the same time, or something similar.

It's not a big deal though.

Cool improvement. Is the service shortcut "Open File in TextEdit" still there? And if so does it work? It never used to.

i want something to ask those who are using mavericks.
Now with iOS7 you can do audio FaceTime, with mavericks you have that option?
to receive a audio FaceTime or make audio facetime calls?

if you minimize the FaceTime app the audio will work but the camera will be off. So it can do audio that way
